13.3" laptop please

Does anyone have a reliable link for the AMD Drivers? I have all the drivers apart from this one.

It's taking forever on the Acer website.

Edit - Nevermind after 2 hours it finally finished. What a slow site!

I was pulling my hair out trying to download from their god awful website.

same, everytime I tried my downloads kept failing or crawling to a halt before dropping out. I ended up using wget.exe for windows to download it through the command line, that way if it failed or dropped out it would auto resume until I got the whole thing (any decent download manager should be able to auto resume downloads providing the server allows it)

I'm gonna make sure I don't loose the few drives I got just in case! lol

I was considering getting a download manager and using it but wasnt sure it would work, ill get one for next time if i need to, i believe my father used "DAP" like 8 years ago.

I have a question, i have been playing CSS which drains the battery in 4 or so hours. Am i better to keep charging and then draining it, or charging it and just playing with it plugged in. Im thinking that cycling the battery constantly is a bad thing?

i suppose if its kept in position for a day or something you could take the battery out so it doesnt charge at all and instead runs off the mains?

Yeah i could do that actually.

ATM the battery is on 98% and doing casual web browsing it reckons it has 11 hours and 54 minutes left haha. That cant be right.

Mine will be delivered within the next hour :D

WOooooooooooOOOOoooo!

A mate will buy the Sammy with Win7 and 3GB for £160 if the missus wants one too. :D

Tis a thing of beauty :)

Just creating the recovery DVD's and then will decrapify it :)

It still bugs me how many superfluous programs come preinstalled with most OEM products.

First Impressions of the 3810TZG:

Perfect size and weight for portability which gives you decent resolution.

Not much heavier than the Sammy netbook I have

Decent screen, lovely and bright, but viewing angles are a bit poor.

Win 7 OS jogs along at a decent pace. Not a speed demon for sure but perfectly usable and miles faster than a standard netbook.

Keyboard is nice to type on, but chiclet style keys feel a bit wierd to me. I'm sure I'll get used to it in time. No flex of note on the keyboard and the whole unit is well held together.

Trackpad is excellent. The feel is superb, and it has multitouch gesture support.

The gumpf the Acer comes pre-installed with is disappointing. Took ages to get rid of all of the pre-installed rubbish.

The HDD is one large partition, with a hidden recovery partition. It would have been nice if Acer had it split in 2 from the start. Seeing as I am encrypting the whole disk (I will have customer files on it eventually) it's not an issue for me.

Gives you tools to create recovery DVD's to external media should your HDD fail. The recovery media requires 3 disks in total but takes AGES to create (around 20 mins per disk).

Sound quality not great from inbuilt speakers, but you really didn't expect them to be now did you!

3 USB ports provide enough power to drive the external samsung DVD drive without needing the option USB cable for extra power attached.

I'm buying another to replace the netbook for the missus :) . Think I'm going for another 3810tzg because it comes with Windows 7 and I value that more than bluetooth or a fingerprint reader :D

EDIT: Scratch that, they've gone and put the price up £20 + VAT......
