Why would you want 7 gpus you could get the same or around the same fps with a 5970 or 5970 and a 5870.

if u read the arcticle u'll release they didn't make it to get fps in games.

they are using the gpu's as processing units.

a single 5970 has no where nr the same computing power as 13 gpus

Sometimes you wonder why the marketing teams from NV or ATI haven't picked up on projects like that - work with the scientists to help them get a stable superfast supercheap system just to showcase their hardware (i.e. developing some special drivers or helping them with the software conflicts in general).

That would be a great way for them to gain free publicity for a good cause and for the sheer power of their cards. It wouldn't cost them anything either.
