130mph web video biker is jailed

crazy, not even very fast

this country is obsessed with speed and how it makes you a bad person..

since when does traveling from a to b quickly make you a criminal....

always makes me lol when everyone jumps up in arms saying 'blah what a idiot', when they guy has done nothing wrong.

Even if the way he was riding was not entirely inappropriate he would still be an ideot for making a video of it.

Completely agree

I read some of the above reply’s and really feel sorry for the people that appear to have been sucked in by the governments pathetic anti Speeding crap. I’ve had countless arguments with people at work that seem to belive everything they read in the papers etc ....

Must admit the guy is a tool for posting it on the internet in a way that could lead back to himself ....

Allways refreshing tho when i get to read sensible and well thought out replys from people that actually appear to have some common sense (usually dolph Flukester Fox etc etc)

Brainwashed tbh

Always feel sorry for people getting made examples of but there is no defence for driving like an utter loon, 130mph isn't even that fast.

And for the people saying 130mph is MEGA UBER fast, it isnt. Its too fast for the road, but just the other day (on my own private road, on a friends farm *cough* ) i achieved that in 2nd gear.

In 3rd gear my bike went from 90mph to 120mph with a twist of the throttle and a 2 second delay.

Don't be so bloody stupid - the pair of you.

You want your Wife/Daughter whoever to be on the same piece of public highway as that moron?

Private road, race track, sure its not that fast, this moron was not on such a road / track which is why he got what he did.

Whats harsher for him? Jail or death ?

Saying 130mph isn't fast doesn't make you cool guys... you are aware of this right?

Have you stopped to think what a car/bike @ 130mph could do if it crashed?

Here, here!

There's just no excuse. He broke the law then bragged about it. The speed limits are there for a reason - safety.

At that speed a collision would be horendous. Just a moronic attitude.

gt

Jail is a ridiculous punishment for a victimless crime. There is no denying the guy is infact a weapons grade plonker and he should be punished. A significant fine and a 12-18 month driving ban would do the trick.

But lock him up? With people who murder others?

Ridiculous, frankly.

Truth.

it isn't fast... now if it read '170' then yeah, thats pretty quick.

the trick is, you don't crash... lets face it, you crash at 80mph on a bike it's bad, doesn't make much more odds how fast it is over that.

i generally don't crash, and not dead yet :)

warning *think of the children post* incoming

1. he didn't crash

2. no one was hurt

3. he provided entertainment on the net

lets face it, his bike doing 130mph is LESS dangerous to others than your truck doing 50, thats a fact

How could the police feel knowing there is someone riding around there area like that and not do anything about it, risking his life and others riding because "he can" its utter ignorance to road users and the emergency services who would have to clean up his mess, people love to break the law on the road, it gives them a buzz in the sad boring mundane lives.

You cannot let off people who speed "its ok its a victimless crime" really sets an example to other people who think they want a go.

12 weeks in jail will is lenient, people seem to think only murders should go to jail, its there for any person that breaks the law...end of.

I dunno, when I go out for a sunny afternoon blast it's the people sat at 40mph in nat speed limit who I think live boring mundane lives... I'm pushing bike to limit and having TONS of fun :)

Life is to short as it is to live life in the slow lane, have abit of fun sometimes... of course, you don't have to put others at risk in doing so if you use your head.

I hope your post was just an example of sarcasm failing on the internet, because surely you can't have been serious?! It is a ridiculous use of hindsight.

So if I went up town and fired a few gun shots off into the air, then when arrested I could say, 'but no-one was hurt'?!

Or I could be out driving like a complete psycho, driving into oncomming traffic and making them swerve to avoid me - but as long as no-one actually crashes, its all ok?!

 Fact, based on what?

Nobody is saying it's acceptable - or at least, nobody with a brain. We are merely suggesting the punishment does not fit the crime.

Rarely, for example, are people who try to evade police in their cars and swerve into oncoming traffic ever jailed..

So a truck is heavier, and so automatically more dangerous?! As I thought, not really a 'fact' at all then

I think his point is that if you pull out in front of a 50mph truck you'll suffer more injury than if you pull out in front of a 130mph bike.
