1440p but fast IPS?

The Asus will be stocked by OCUK as well - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-043-AS&campaign=pcm/googleshopping&pup_c=gs

No idea what AG coating it will have though - reports are definitely not glossy, but unclear how aggressive the AG is (i.e. notoriously grainy IPS vs. semi-glossy).
Reports are 5ms G2G but it has multi-input support and an OSD so input lag is going to be an issue still. In other words - think the Dell 2713HM is more tried and tested and performance-wise much the same....

But, nice on the heads up, thanks :)

Arghh....decisions. It's crazy there is no single monitor that meets the bill (i.e. always having to trade-off something in the spec). I'd go for the Hazro if it wasn't for the QA issues and poor CS I've read about here in the forums as I can bypass the HDCP with a software solution (not ideal but do-able) and it has the best responsiveness of the lot. Dell is the safer option.

Philips 273P3LPHES - 4.4ms input lag (SmartResponse "On") TN Film 27" 1920x1080

That is being googled right now very sexy sounding.

edit: it's a beauty. If only they did a 2560x1600 monitor with such amazing response times.

Problem again though is the 1080p - I'm after 1440p with a decent response time/input lag.
I think there's a monitor conspiracy. Dell exposed it with the new S-series which are all amazing except 1080p....argh!
<headache>

Linus says in this video the Asus PB278Q has acceptable response time.

If input lag is something below 13ms, I may sell my XL2420T for this beauty.

I think if you want a fast response time, you will end up with a TN display - especially at those requirements stated in the OP.

I got myself the LG IPS234V - that's 5ms, I can tell you it looks beautiful (after 2hrs calibrating the colour) and has 0 lag when it comes to gaming on the Xbox 360 on Battlefield 3.
FYI:
I game almost every day, and didn't notice a single bit of "input lag" difference between my old 8ms ASUS PW201 LCD monitor and my new LG IPS LED 5ms screen. What I did notice on the other hand was my new screen being super thin, lightweight, looks slender and fine (due to having only a 1.2cm or so bezel), and most of all looking absolutely super sharp when viewing videos, gaming and photos. The contrast ratio is crazy, and amazing to look at!

Just to give you an idea - I have my screen brightness at 0-40% on my new LG, whereas with the ASUS I would be at 100%.

If you like numbers however, get a TN display - simply put.
If you are a "pro gamer" and really think 3ms will make the difference, then get a TN display @1080p
If you want to watch movies etc and like the idea of 3D - get a IPS 3D screen
If you are like me, and careless about that 2ms vs 5ms time difference but still want an affordable, and beautiful screen to look at - get an IPS

Here's my LG on Insta Gee

The 8ms pixel response on the Dell vs. 5ms or similar in a TN panel isn't the problem - I definitely would cope with that. It's the input lag increase from negligible with a TN panel to 22ms on the Dell that I'm concerned about. I hear <=16ms is the optimum, anything above has a chance of becoming noticeable. The Hazro is reported with a decent input lag for a 1440p 27" at 8.8ms average which is very, very good. But I hear terrible reports of build quality issues and CS issues down the line plus there's no HDCP support which makes my bluray drive pointless unless I get a software solution.

The ASUS panel looks really good actually, thanks for the video review really appreciate it. IQ looks great. If it's Samsung PLS and not LG then the AG coating shouldn't be too bad (but does it go as far as being 'semi-glossy'?). Definitely a contender - depends on the input lag reviews which I don't think are tested yet e.g by PCM2, Prad or TFT Central.

You mean the LG one bro?
My ASUS one is my old one - based on LCD technology lol. Not produced any more :P

If you meant LG - I find no glossy-ness to it. If you want I can take more pictures of it?
Or in fact - I will do, just wait for my post/review on my website :)
I'll post it on OCUK too. I'm just a little busy atm lol

Ah, sorry meant the new ASUS PB278Q. LG IPS suffer from pretty aggressive AG coatings so I hear :(

I did, weirdly, dream of unboxing a pixel-perfect Yamakasi Catleap 2B edition last night :S That's not a good sign.... - consciously the toss up was between the Hazro HZ27WC and the Dell U2713HM, throwing the ASUS PB278Q into the mix last minute. So no idea where that came from. Wishful thinking I suppose :D

By the time I've decided, a mfctr will bring out something new and I'll have to start over again hah.

Will wait on the PB278Q reviews to check out input lag and then that is the top contender if it's decent enough. The Dell U2713HM is following in close 2nd with the Hazro in 3rd. If I get some rave reviews about the Hazro before the PB278Q results come out, it might rise in the rankings :D

Yes the monitor looks great but my biggest concern is the dreaded blb issues all LED monitors are having. There's no way asus or any company just sends a random monitor to a reviewer without checking for any problems like blb. We will just have to wait and see what happens when this thing goes on sale.

I think many people have got their DGM. What is the real life respond time like (I know it was reported to be 28ms ...)? Any noticeable lag or anything?
