£15 Computer ...

where does one begin with robotics? Maybe robot wars might be more fun with one of these at its heart?

I will definitely be picking one of these up when they are released. It will be great to mess around with and see what uses i can use it for. and for £15 if one goes pop its not huge issue to replace.

could be brilliant little device for automation purposes for non mission critical kit. Currently have to use Opto22 PACs or Siemens microbox pc's this looks like could do the task in most cases for a fraction of the cost.

While i'm sure others will put this piece of kit to practical or learning purposes i like the idea of a computer the size of a match box especially when it going to be so cheap.

This device looks bloody amazing for £15 and I can't see why some are slagging it off.
I can foresee lots of small gizmo's being released on the back of this device.

I've been following this project for a while now and looking forward to seeing the end product. I work in education but not as a teacher and thou its pretty pointless for me, I can see the benefits of the project.

Not everyone can afford a computer or a laptop, with this they can plug straight in to a TV and thin client on to our servers at work. Some of the course curriculum really makes me laugh compared to what I did at that level and if this even brings back a bit of basic computing 101, it be worth the 15 pounds per student.

I feel it's a very nice idea, but I don't think the £15 computer will catch on.

How come?

It's stupidly cheap and useful for so many little things. Already interest just from this thread let alone the other computer fans around the world. PLUS everyone else . :)

I'd love to get one, buy a mini screen and do...something with it. :D

If it can do 1080p media, then this would make a great little media centre if I can whack plex on it.

It could well be the centre of many interesting projects depending on its final specs.

it can do 1080p, and there was an xbmc distro being designed for it last time i looked

i will be picking these up once a decent media distro has been done

You aren't gonna be decoding any decent (HD) media at 700mhz/128mb ram though sadly. Really cool piece of kit - but as people have said it will be much more suited to special use like education or a firewall / router :)
