I hate people that say this.
Should we all just drive bangers? Some people like keeping a car nice and perfect as it should be
Yes fixing that rust really is an easy job, but £150 is nothing for a good fix tbh. Fair enough yea you could get it done £100 elsewhere or £50 if you shopped around but i wouldn't. Theres a lot of dodgy bodyshops out there and i can tell you first hand that if you try get a good price on something then your car will come with plenty more problems on the way back. Best thing to do in situations like this is remove the panel that needs to be painted and give them it so they can't mess up the rest of the car. I guess with your problem however you can't do this which is why i'd definitely take it to bmw. At least if it doesn't come back right you can ensure they can't do a runner on you; it's bmw afterall
For the love of God, where did I say everyone should drive ****ing bangers?
Its a never ending circle with cars, its impossible, to quote yourself, to keep a car 'perfect', you drive cars they pick up imperfections along the way, if you spend all your hard earned constantly fixing every last damn nick you'll never have any money to drive it.
Ive had new cars, old cars, and admittedly ive spent many a hour and cash trying to keep em spangly aswell, but in the last few years ive realised that you just cant avoid picking up dings, dents, scrapes, stone chips, dents in leather, it just happens when you drive cars. Yeah, fix the big stuff, and keep the car nice and shiney, but worry about a rust patch the size of a finger nail, nah.
As i said before £150 is a lot of money to fix something as insignificant as that, id rather put that money towards fixing your oil issue tbh Tom.
