£1500+ gaming build opinions please ?

on ************, it says this

- The Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory operating voltage of 1.65V exceeds the Intel Haswell Refresh CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum

anything to worry about?

This is because 4790k is only recommended for RAM speed of upto 1600MHz, you could run your Vengeance Pro at these speeds with 1.5v and be within recommendations. However I'm guessing you'll want to run them at 2400MHz, you might be able to to bring the volts down a bit, but it's at 1.65v for stability reasons. No, it's not anything to worry about though, Intel just doesn't officially support overclocked/faster than recommended RAM.

Good choice :) Post your final spec before hand so someone can take a look to check it over

I still think you should go for SLI 970s like my spec further up, but the 980 is a great choice either way so up to you :) I suppose going for 1 faster card is a better choice and then SLI later on

The Hyper 212 is also a bit dated now and is beaten by cheaper coolers now (Raijintek Themis for example)
Vengeance Pro is overpriced for what it is really, take a look at TeamGroup stuff and also the Avexir 2133Mhz stuff
No point in getting the 840 Pro SSD over the Evo, I believe the problem with the Evo SSDs is getting fixed very soon and the Evo is a decent chunk cheaper - also the Crucial MX100 is great value for performance so maybe take a look at that to perhaps save a bit more wonga if you like

Otherwise looks really nice :)

Thanks a lot, I have just swapped out pro for evo..

with regards to cpu cooler, I'm mainly looking for quiet/silent and heard hyper 212 is king for that

I wouldn't call it the *king* haha, it's supposed to be very good but spend a little more from the money you can save and whack in something like this

Big air cooler, very very quiet and great performance

Should fit in your case

On the cheaper end, this should be better than the 212 evo

Apparently one of the best <£30 coolers out there :)

Make sure you take a look at stulid's suggestion up there as well ^^^ Free keyboard and a better motherboard :)
