~£15k Coupe Suggestions

Always easy to just type on the internet that someone should just spend the extra 6k and be done with it. More difficult when it's your money and your decision.

I mean to be honest why stop at the TT? Just get an RS5 and be done with it.

You'd get a lot of tables in an RS6 - so maybe that's an option? :D

Yeah i kind of agree with that, my TT had it and i was never happy with the sound. Got Harmon Kardon in the BMW now, much livelier sound, maybe because HK own JBL which make good speakers?, Dunno, just sounds better to me.

Yea JBL are quite good. Toyota use them for their "upgraded" speakers+amp.

Mate, get the TTS and be done with it. I've had one, it's a big step up.

oh, and my TTS had red leather with the extended leather pack. It was ace :D

I mean if I can afford it, I guess the money isn't just 'gone', if later down the line I sell/swap it (obviously after taking into account depreciation). Out of curiosity, how much do you reckon the TT/TTS would be worth in 5 years time?
I'll be using a few £k from savings, and then the rest as bank loan as that's probably cheapest interest, either 4 or 5 years.

Well, I am a long way away from my initial thought of spending £6-7k on a mk7 Fiesta ST, what's another £20k on top...? :o

Obviously, I know the TT/TTS will incur more expensive servicing/parts, but how much should I be setting aside for it parts/servicing annually if I'm doing 8k miles?
I assume they're pretty reliable as I haven't heard otherwise (other than possible electric problems with the dash/mechtronic unit).

The Ford Focus has been dirt cheap as other than suspension arms after 10 years (it's been in the family for that long), it's needed nothing done to it other than very minor things/usual consumables/schduleded things, for the past 3 years I've done the basic servicing myself (I'd give the TT/TTS to a garage for servicing) and it's only £300-350 to change all 4 tyres.

@Razor-BladE don't get youself in debt over it. Best thing to do is to find a local Audi dealer who has both a 2.0 quattro and TTS in stock so you can test drive them both. There's no doubt you'll love the TTS, but you might think, actually the 2.0 is good enough and I'd prefer to save a few k.

Just don't start adding crap to it. If you want extra power, get the TTS. If you get the 2.0, just be happy with what it is.

Personally, I know both cars pretty well and would get the TTS no question...but that's me.

Used Audi tend to have offers on. Mine came with 2yrs warranty which was good.

Whatever you do, don't start thinking "what if", "should I have got the TTS"....because if you trade up, you'll loose money, so pick right first time.

Drive both options back to back. The most powerful option isn't always the one which feels the best.

There are always trade-offs. Not everyone gets on with firm suspension etc. It's great if you want to drive quick everywhere, not when you just want to cruise around.

Coming from a normal hatchback with no experience of performance cars it will feel like a handful at first. Even something like a TT.

Oh for sure, I appreciate it. I've always been good with finances. I'll still have a few £k in savings after and I have about £10-12k in yearly disposable income after all expenses. I only thought of going for a 4 or 5 year loan because the interest is pretty low so £15k loan will only rack up about £1.5k in interest over 5 years. Plus I've never spent so much on anything close to this in my life (minus house deposit), so spending £400-600 a month just seems like a lot! Maybe I can/should think about a shorter term loan. A lot to think about.

I will definitely try to test drive both though. I only fear I know what the outcome might be. :p

I’ve been following the Z4 prices closely e85 mainly.
A mint 3.0si is close to £10,000 they are definitely on the way up.
The bargains are the less desirable lower powered 2.5i n52 and the m54 2.2i

They are becoming a classic so prices are going up. The 3.0 is the only one to have really. It's a big engine in a small car which is something we don't see anymore.

Cheap Cayman?

Having a look, it would have to be around 2009 car, which I'd rather not to the age/porsche parts/servicing costs. I think I'm set on the TT/TTS, which initially was always a strong contender in my mind due to wanting one for ages. Hope it lives up to my expectations.

Yeah, ever since I first looked at them years ago they've been creeping up. I should've bought one about 3 years ago when they were about £5-6k!
