Hey guys,

I'm after some advice. I've got about 15K to spend on a new car and I'm looking for some inspiration. I've currently got a 1.4 206 so anything will be an improvement! I'm looking for something mid-size rather than a large saloon. I've been looking at allsorts so far from a new Seat Leon to a used RX-8!

Any suggestions??

Cheers

Well you can get pretty much whatever you want with that kinda dollar. RX-8/350z would be on my list, along with 330/530 maybe Focus ST3 and i'd be secretly looking at R33 GT-R's. But hey thats just me im obsessed with em!

Lotus Elise

People for who an Elise is the best choice do not need to ask on a forum what they should buy. You either know, right away, you need an Elise, or its not the right car for you.

330Ci ***.

id be all over a silly R33 GTR for that lol...

but i doubt thats the car you want.. erm... 350z or some kind of bm i supose.

Seat Leon Cupra R fits the bill I say, sweet sweet car.. saving for one as we speak :p

RX-8 I can imagine is gonna be tight in the back.

I would also consider a Integra DC5 you can actually pick up one of these for 10/12k

Good Luck.

You aint considering selling 206 r u :D

Wow, thanks for the replies. Not interested in an elise tbh as I need some rear seats which I think also think excludes the 350z also as it's 2+2 isn't it? Very nice car though.

ST3 - again very nice car but I think I'd struggle to get one for £15K wouldn't I? Like thr orange though

Civic Type R - mate of mine at work had one of these and it was nice but he got rid of it because he kept getting tickets :)

What are the new astras like interior wise? Vauxhall's are usually a bit plastic aren't they?

Not exactly a fault with the car though is it?:p

With that kind of cash you have to look to the heart as well as the head.

What kind of car is your dream car? What did you use to aspire to own? etc

My advice is to buy used and not new, 15k will buy something "nice" if you go new, but not something truly special.

Think you can get em new for that money tbh, so easily 2nd hand.
Also, 350z just 2 seats i think, RX-8 is surprisngly spacious for the type of car it is, but i feel if you are looking for 4 seats you'll keep coming back to the bmw 330ci as the logical conclusion!

Well I always wanted a ferarri but I think that's a little out of my budget. I must say when I sat in a red RX8 I did feel like that was a very special car. One of my neighbours has just bought a brand new red one and it looks fantastic. Just not very practical for me really - probably need room for a baby seat at some point

Not practical? It has 4 doors..

Have to laugh how the car must now be practical enough to house a child seat, yet initially you discounted decent sized saloon cars...
