16 or 32GB Modules >3600Mhz - Any point?

G.Skill do some nice kits, not cheap though, just google the part numbers, anything 3600mhz C18 is going to be the new Hynix CJR chips or there abouts.

128gb (4x32gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C18Q-128GTZN - not sure which IC's this kit uses.

64gb (4x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C16Q-64GTZN 16-16-16-36 - Samsung B-Die
Dont confuse with the blow

64gb (4x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC 16-19-19-39 E-Die

64gb (4x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C18Q-64GTZN 18-22-22-42 Hynix CJR

The same part numbers apply if you just want 2 x 16gb sticks, just change a couple of digits:

32gb (2x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C16D-32GTZN 16-16-16-36 - Samsung B-Die

32gb (2x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC 16-19-19-39 E-Die

32gb (2x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C18D-32GTZN 18-22-22-42 Hynix CJR

To break the part numbers down:

F4 = DDR4
3600 = the ram speed
C16/C17/C18 = Cas latency
Q-64 = Quad channel matched kit totalling 64GB (4x16gb)
D-32 = Dual channel matched kit totalling 32GB (2x16gb)
GTZN = G.Skill Trident Z Neo (not sure what the C means)

That Micron would be actually improvement from previous Hynix chips.
Though no doubt distribution channel still has some Hynix chip kits moving around...

Yes indeed, although my G.Skill Trident Z Royal Silver is Hynix CJR, its 3600mhz C18, it overclocks to 3800mhz C18, im running 4x8gb (32gb) sticks which does help as they are single sided, however, no matter how much voltage I put through them, they wont do C16.

Hi Rich,

Did you ever find something suitable at CL16?
I'm in the same boat. Currently, building a Ryzen 3950X system and need at least 64GB.
The new Crucial Ballistix range look great, and are reasonably priced but no stock anywhere.

Hi fatfurrycat, I didnt im afraid and ended up going for the 4x32GB Vengeance PRO RGB to give the 128GB I wanted for some VMs for my lab

Eitherway, it sounds like @Jamin280672 sorted you out - I think I paid about £730 or so for the 128GB, but would have to look it up

Thanks for getting back to me, Rich. Thanks also to everyone else for their replies.

Looks like I'm going to have to go with the Corsair RAM, as I really want a 2x32GB kit in order to have further expandability.
I've done some more searching for alternatives, but nobody appears to have any stock.

If you need the capacity just run 3200-3466mhz which all these can do with 32gb dimms... Difference between timings and a few mhz for vms, photo editing and blah blah blah is almost zero.... This is not 1080p gaming settings.... Capacity is primary need....

I've ordered the 32gb (2x16gb) 3600mhz F4-3600C16D-32GTZN 16-16-16-36 as it was cheaper than the (4x 8gb) I'll probably go to 64gb when the price drops.

G.Skill Trident Z F4-3600C16D-32GTZN Memory Module, 32GB (2x16GB) Capacity, DDR4 Memory Type, 3600MHz RAM Speed
