1600W Titanium, Platinum & Gold Super Flower power supplies now available!

No problem, AFAIK they will be the first full Titanium range to market still :)
I'm not complaining, I've just been waiting for them since I heard about them in may so I'm quite keen to get one now ;) This cheap corsair was only meant to be a short stop gap after I gave my seasonic to my brother.

What I don't get is they were certified in june and SF said they would be available end of september last year. But no sign of them and apparently they are in the final stages of testing. What sort of testing do they require which takes several months after gaining the 80Plus certs? Or were the 2000W versions going to be Gold and Platinum but they have decided to go for Platinum and Titanium instead which is holding up the release because they want the higher watt versions released before the lower watt ones.

In any case I can't wait to replace my stop gap. These Titanuim models are perfect for my requirements, especially if the fan in silent in constant mode.

The real question is, Is there actually any point in 750w-1200w Titanium ? I can understand the higher 1600w having Titanium but 750w-1200w Titanium seems a little bit of a waste to be honest.
Higher efficiency has benefits at all watt levels, less heat from the PSU which means less radiated into the case and therefore lower system wide running temps and PSU/case fan noise.

Titanium has the extra requirement of meeting an efficiency level at 10% load, none of the other certification levels require that.

Different system setups and usage patterns have different requirements, with a wide range of quality/wattage/efficiency available you can spec the perfect PSU for any given situation. Having another efficiency level available should lower the cost of the lower efficiency levels aswell.

I believe that another key reason is the popularity of the Superflower and EVGA made Superflower PSU's in the past 12 months. It has exceeded even the wildest expectations from the factory hence their production has been at full capacity for months now. They are coming soon, the 1600W was just the first unit to be produced as the 1600W Gold/Platinum units were also ready and therefore made the most sense.
