I want thunder and lightning in Darlington - just once or twice a year, I can maybe live with. :(:(

We had it yesterday. My alarm went off at about 7.20 and I woke to the sound of torrential rain from the open window. I started counting the seconds between the thunder and lightning to see how close it was. Less than ten minutes later there was a bright flash, and almost instantly the biggest clap of thunder I'd ever heard/felt. The power cut out immediately, and I soiled myself. :(

ROFL. First thing I did was close my main window. I don't want to be literally shocked. It's calmed down now, which is a shame.
You're supposed to leave all your windows open during thunderstorms, so the lightning can travel from end of the house to the other.

My closest encounter with lightning, is seeing and hearing a lightning bolt go straight our house. The noise was like a static discharge, and I very briefly saw the lightning go across the chimney breat.

Wow. I can honestly say in 21 years I have never felt thunder make the house rumble  Anyone else feeling the awesome power of this mornings storm? :D

Damnit, why does it always miss us? I love a good storm.

We're supposed to be getting some here in Belfast later on. I can't wait we don't really get it that often.

My mum used to know a lady that had a thunderbolt go through her front door and out the back door of her house while she stood and watched it pass her in the kitchen (the doors are directly facing each other).

It has just hit Hinckley.
Loads of water loads of thunder.
Any minute now i am going to get fried down my Broadband line. my Frank staffy dog don't like it and is trying to crawl up my batty.
OOOoooooooo there it goes again, the thunder is well loud.

:( Yes i am a bit scared. :p

Good lord, it's that bad it feels like it's hit the house. The smell after the lightning strike is foul.

Malc, I'm just getting a second pass, should be your way next! (Barwell)

Well last sunday i was woken up by the loudest bang ever! i thought it was a car hitting the house at first but then a flash came and everything electrical went dead, even my mobile phone had zero signal!!! It was like war of the worlds with all the lighting there was, i really thought one of those alien robots was gonna walk down the road and start blowing everything up

Luckily they didnt :D
but i do like a good storm.

It's just humid and miserable here in Wales :D We did have thunder on Sunday night but nothing overly dramatic.

I love thunderstorms!

Errrr, it may do. You're North of me and my room is South facing - I think. So if it's heading North which it appears to be you may do so.

The rain is fantastic. I do love a good downpour. I keep wandering into the conservatory but then think what if I get struck :D

Why is it with thunder, you now it's coming as you get a warning when the lightning strikes and you look forward to it, but it still makes you jump a little?

Moral dilemma - should I, or should I not have just let the cat out? She was moaning at me for making her stay indoors... oh well. I'll just leave the door open for her.

Well I hope it does come this, it's just a shame i'm at work. I'd love to get the Camera out and film it from my balcony.

I love it when the thunder is so loud that it makes your legs give way when it hits.
