So "gilly" is pronounced exactly the same as "hilly", because it's a misspelling (the keys are right next to each other)? Even though they're completely different words?

BUT....you should still pronounce it as hilly as thats what was originally intended.

You can't pronounce a word based on how it was originally intended to be spelt; that's just plain daft. You take words at face-value and pronounce them as they are actually spelt, not how some obscure game developer meant to spell it.
