180 degree PCIe power connectors

I struggle to understand why they'd do that unless they WANT you to have to buy two packs?!
Bit of a late reply
But this just came up in a thread
And I had to find this post to link to :)
If you have a card with only 1 power connector
Then that set of two covers you
Regardless of whether your connector has the latch
At the top or at the bottom
By the time of this reply cards with only one connector
Will probably be less common though
So they might now sell them in packs of 4 or 6
With 2 or 3 of each
And yes you can now get 90 degree ones too

I ended up buying some.

Old thread I know
But derbuaer (can never spell his name right)
And thermal grizzly have released a "wireview"
Looks like a very well engineered version of these
But also has an oled screen on it
Shows all sorts of power information
(through the gpu cables possibly can't measure the pcie slot too)
If anyone has one or spots a thread about them
Would be interested to see it
Especially if its on a waterblocked gpu
My main issue with the adapters in this thread was
My 8 pin gpu connectors are opposite way around
So the adapter has to go over the front of the waterblock
Not over the backplate
And the connectors were too close together to do that

Looks like thermal grizzly have all sorts too
Not just 8 pin to 8 pin
8 Pin to the new style high power connector for rtx4090 etc As well

Edited
Sent ocuk a ticket
Asking if they're going to sell these
I can see a demand for these things
Not just to reroute the cables but for the information too
It also has some sort of cable to connect through
Something then to a laptop
So you can keep logs of the data
But looks useful for test benching gpus
Or just to keep an eye on how many amps
Going through your 4090 adapter etc

No doubt they will be stupidly expensive as well just like all the other Der8auer/Thermal Grizzly stuff. Just look at the ridiculous price difference between their CPU Contact Frame and Thermochill's version.

I still say that the route I went down looks much better than these 180 degree adaptors although you do have to de-pin the power cables plug to fit the bracket. It's cheap, around £2.50 per pack of three, looks good, comes in several colours between clear and black and has less joints in the power cable as it is still just the original cable you are plugging into the motherboard or GPU. It's a little like a double cable comb and come in 4, 6, 8, 20 and 24 pin versions. It took me between 10 and 20 minutes to do my 6, 8 and 24 pin cables much of which was taken up by some of the pins being stubborn and not releasing the first, second or third time from the plug.

@pastymuncher
Yeah definitely not at all cheap
Though the little oled screen
And the pcb build quality may justify some of
The price
No doubt other cheaper versions will follow from other
Companies
If they are selling well

I do like yours Too
Though same issue with my gpu possibly
The 2 sets of holes might be too close together
I need to go over the front of my block
and then also avoid some tubing
totally a PITA that they put the power connectors reversed on mine
Where did you get them?
Or what search term did you use to find them
And what did you use to get the pins out?
Tried a few DIY methods to remove pins before
With limited success
