JUst got off the phone with a OCUK employee.

Got some bad news for you all.

prices on the 5870 1gig model will be between £250-300 tops.
and all they have in stock at the minute is 5850 1gig models and 5870 1gig models.

also the cards will not be released on the 22nd of september or the 23rd of september.
ati / amd have given them a date of 14th of october to be able to sell the cards.

looks like we are all in for a big wait, if you thought they where being released on the 10th and where dissapointed then when the 23rd comes you will also be disspointed.

this trully freakin sucks. looks like im getting 2x 285s.

We have known this for days.

The release dates, assuming you aren't pulling shenanigans, are less cool.

So you have just rang up OcUK, spoke to some random person at sales and they have broken an NDA releasing info about release dates to you that the public should not know until the NDA has ended.

in a nutshell yes unless he was telling me porkies.. but i heard that somewhere else that the 14th of october would be the release date, i dont get it.

Well if its true then AMD are fools and it gives N time to re-think their strategy errr i mean names.
