28681 - the number of ATI fanboys that wished they waited for Fermi.

You are kidding right? A 6 month + wait? I am fairly sure the nVidia cards will be better, however they won't be massively better and they are likely to cost more. Those of us who adopted the tech early have had a lot of use out of our cards, and I adopted early enough to pick up my Asus 5870 (before the price hikes) for 300 Euros... that was about 280 quid at the time.

And with any luck, though I doubt it, ATI prices may drop and I will be able to X-Fire when I need the extra performance, and I don't... yet ;).

Fatboys just realy happy, cause instead of waiting for his morning egg bap to arrive from down the road.. , He just fires up his new GTX 480 and cooks his breakfast on there!

Is Yewen going to be telling us about his breakfast and how he could make twice as much thanks to his new stove? :p

Really  I didn't think there were that many Dx11 games :p

There are enough now, and it has also allowed me to play at my preferred resolution with all the shinies on, like higher AA. I've said before that 2x is pretty good as it is and I still stand by that, but there is a difference the higher you go and it is nice to have, if not necessary.

I also think I am relatively "future proofed" and can always chuck another 5870 in, second hand perhaps, (provided by lovely people changing to the new nVidia cards) when I personally feel the 5870 doesn't perform as well as I would like anymore.

If I was buying new now I would pay more interest in FERMI but I am very pleased with what I have and I'm really not convinced by the cards, if it was fantastic nVidia would have been screaming from the internets virtual rooftops about it.
