The main reason i got one was due to going to a 120hz panel recently, an extra 20fps or so in BF3 is very nice for me(even more in other titles) and also the extra vram for 3D is ideal.I probably add a 2nd within a few months too.

I've only looked at the Overclock3d review, but the GTX680 seems virtually identical to the 7970! barring games that favour AMD/Nvidia they seem at level pegging. Price war time =)

Resist for a week and watch what happens to the prices of the 79xx cards.

and the 79xx cards will still be slower than the GTX680. But honestly I cant see them being any more than £20 cheaper than a GTX680

The issue is that they aren't really. The reviews I've seen thus far (Overclock3d, Guru3d) have the GTX680 and 7970 trading blows, and while the 680 is slightly (+-5%) faster in some cases at stock, when overclocked they are still pretty much neck and neck. The only place where the GTX680 wins out is power consumption and heat. That, and txAA looks quite interesting =) Am hoping for a price war!

Really looking forward to seeing how Adaptive VSYNC performs also.

Add in PhysX and the TXAA stuff and even neck and neck green team has value adds.

hmm do these cards only have one display port on them...i was expecting 2 at least. what happens if you want 2 monitors running 120hz. is this possible? some AMD cards have about 4 DP connection's on them, what gives?

Not going to happen, also I can't see them cropping up second hand for cheapness, people have no real reason to give them up for the next gen gpu's

Dual dvi yes, i think, but not all 120hz monitors have dual DVI

Hmm, I think you're right. Maybe get a monitor with proper inputs?

An adaptor from dual-DVI to DP would work wouldn't it? If it was active.

the monitors nice but i think Samsung missed this, banking on more DP connection on the New graphics cards, which i think there should be. but anyway both have not made enough connections so they are both at fault. i know they cant please everyone but hey you'd have though an extra DP wouldn't have been to much to added with a new product.
