the monitors nice but i think Samsung missed this, banking on more DP connection on the New graphics cards, which i think there should be. but anyway both have not made enough connections so they are both at fault. i know they cant please everyone but hey you'd have though an extra DP wouldn't have been to much to added with a new product.

Yeah that's a fair point, though 2 DVIs have been standard on Nvidia cards for ages, and monitors tend to have DVI. seems to me like Samsung didn't want a fat connector on their display!

Still an adaptor or different monitor is required. Also, why two monitors at 120Hz?

1 or 3 is usual for gaming because of the bezel.

I don't think so.

You can get active DP to Dual Link DVI (around £75 last time I looked) but I've not seen Dual Link DVI to DP so maybe that's not possible.

Would that work either way though? So have that adaptor in the monitor end then a DVI cable from the GPU to the adaptor?

Finally managed to have a look at it all. Been waiting all day to have a look!

Anyhow, simple question. How comes the price is so steep compared to our American counter parts? I mean it always seems the UK gets a raw deal when it comes to the latest tech, does this bug everyone or is it just me?

The price is trading blows with the 7970 here.. where as you can net yourself a nice branded one with a good warranty there for a decent amount less than the entry level 7970...

Really want the card tbh, but games simply arn't demanding enough to justify dropping that amount of money on a new card... going to wait until late summer personally and see if the prices are better once its settled down.

Because the retailers are trying to claw as much out of it as possible by screwing over the public that will just pay. :D There would be a war if it happened in America we just suck it up and get on...

I tell you what guys, never mind benchmarks I have just had a round on BF3 and im really impressed.

I set up the adaptive vsync and monitored fps with EVGA precision and it never went above 120fps (120Hz) averaging 70 - 80 with no signs of lag or anything else associated with vsync.

But what impressed me the most was I couldnt even hear the fan

It was even quieter than my MSI 580 Twin Frozr.

So when Gibbo said it was the quietest card he had tested, he wasnt lying

:) i agree it's so quiet like i said in another threads my GT 1850's are louder and the temps on the graphics card are well within reasonable limits.

Once they hit the £380 mark I'll be snapping on of these up to. Been waiting a long long time for NV to release a card that ticks all the boxes for me :)
