What boots do you use?
I've got tcx racing gortex boots and won't be changing them anytime soon. Trying to get nice looking boots for size 13 loafers is like trying to find a pink donkey.

Really, care to elaborate?
Mine are gortex but they never seen rain. They did couple of years ago when it was my main transport but not now as a weekend toy.
Thought alpinestars with the 'executive' brand of biking gear? Saying that, my old pair of alpinestars gortex winter gloves didn't last 3 months, stitching went on the pinky along with material flaking at the palm.

A* are brilliant boots, my SMX 6 Goretex boots have done about 28k miles over 2.5 years, never get cleaned and show zero sign of giving up anytime soon. Never let in a drop of water either.
Build quality and QC is very poor with bits coming off/stitching issues after a few hundred kilometres of use. One boot was never very waterproof and now both definitely aren't
Not really, they are considered trendy though.

Road looked clean on the video. On the video it looks like I just leaned over until I was sitting on the floor.

Unlucky buddy, as you say main thing is you're ok and damage is all cosmetic.
I'd echo your experience with A* gear. Only had a pair of gloves of theirs but they only lasted a couple of months until the stitching went and they went back under the GoreTex warranty as they weren't fully waterproof. I've got plenty of Dainese gear which is great and would really recommend Sidi for boots, did me proud on my Alps trip, even went for a wander up a stream at one point.
