18TB storage

ive been asked to look at storing 18tb of artwork data we do to the macs. and provide a backup solution.

Cheap as chips though. Im thinking the cheapest but not best way would be a couple of Promise 12tb nas boxes (£1,400ea). this goes over thunderbolt technology.

Cant you just buy a cheap PC, run 12x 3TB drives from it and then have the drives set up in which ever way you like with full user rights to access the data over the network??

You could build a pc that could run that for around £1500-£1800 with OS and the full 18TB x2 of drives. (1 set for storage, the other set for for backup)
