1990s roof insulation Vs modern??

Keeping an eye on this thread as our old cottage upstairs is essentially "room in the roof", with just a crawl space loft.

Only the crawl space is insulated a bit and the roof is Tile --> Membrane --> Small cavity --> Plasterboard.

FYI if your getting more than something like 20% of the roof replaced you need building regs - we had our old and failing tiles replaced and didn't realise and had to pay extra for post event building regs (whatever they are called). Part of what they want is an improvement in the insulation if possible and validation that the new roof meets new fixing standards

Oh very useful - never would have crossed my mind for a like for like replacement. I'm in Scotland, so may be different, but I'll check that!

Oh, you can get 0% loan for all your solar etc. as you are in Scotland.
