1994 the best year of cinema

Explain to me how Pulp Fiction, Leon, and The Hudsucker Proxy are forgettable!:p

Pulp fiction?

You mean, the same pulp fiction that I've already said in my first post is possible the only good film there?

Leon and the Hudsucker Proxy are forgettable, along with the rest of those mentioned because, and this is the funny part, after watching them they completely failed to leave an impression and where thus forgotten.

Just like the Shawshank Redemption, no end of people on here think its one of the best films ever made, I watched it, and have have caught bits of it since I first watched it, all it illicits from me is a big fat "meh".

Ahh pretentiousness, the number one trait in a "cinema buff".

Pay attention people, everything this person says in regards to cinema is FACT.

Since you pretend to know me by labelling me a 'cinema buff' (which I am eminently not), I shall repay the favour and state that if you believe Pulp Fiction to be the only film in the '94 list that is not 'forgettable', then you are a without doubt a strange and probably friendless individual.

Don't let the thread degenerate so soon!

atpbx - the point of the thread was that I think 1994 is the best year for films made. You seem to disagree. What year produced your favourite films?

actually 88 is better

Coming to America
Die Hard
Beetlejuice
Young Guns,

well I'm not going to look at any more years cause it just annoys me that we have to put up with todays cinema!!! rubbish

You're all wrong. It's the golden year of 1977:
- Star Wars (The original)
- James Bond: The Spy Who Loved Me
- Close Encounters of the Third Kind
- Smokey and the Bandit

You're the one that comes in and says "I'm not having", implying that your opinion is in some way more valid. Why do you expect this rudeness to be tolerated?

I know what you mean lol. Ive just had a look through the box office lists on wikipedia and there seems to be an all time classic film every year for the 80'/90's onwards.

LOL

star trek - ok
terminator 4 - good effects no plot line. Ok
transformers 2 - rubbish

none of them are a match for the likes of pulp fiction/usual suspects. they are not even in the same sport let alone league.

You can't really put down someones choice, its his personal choice both of those films you have put there i would say average at best.

You're coming across far more pretentious than your target dude ;)

I can't argue with 94, amazing films in there, and even though it's all subjective, I think from a majority standpoint 94 can't be topped.

Being inspired by Rodneypooleg's thread where you have to pick your favourite film for each year it is clear to me that 1994 is exceptional:-

Clerks
Dumb and Dumber
Ed Wood
Forrest Gump
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Leon
Pulp Fiction
Shallow Grave
The Hudsucker Proxy
The Lion King
The Shawshank Redemption
The Usual Suspects

Do you think that there is a better year?

Don't forget... True Lies!!!
