1pMobile

Only downside I have found with 1Pmobile so far is the reduced data when roaming. 14GB limit, going that's enough, I tend to hammer maps especially and reviews that sort of thing.

No complaints here, been using em for years now.

Went France a few months ago and used the free roaming (again). Everyone else in the car on spendy contracts is having to buy a roaming pass before they can get on data. Mental.

I've been using 1p for a good few years and I can't fault them, but I've started the porting process to a Talk Home SIM (EE) because it was £7.49 for 50GB instead of £10 with 1p.

Quite tempted to run a Vodafone eSIM as well because there are still so many places in the UK that get rubbish signal.

I really wouldn't bother.
For the last 4 years I've been traveling all over the UK and for the last 18 months I've used 1p Mobile (EE) and Smarty (Three).
EE fails nowhere and that's why I've now only gone on to the £7.49 for 50gb Talk Home.
If you do, get the cheapest deal you can get for the 2nd sim eg £2.49 and see if you ever need it.

It might work for you, but I have countless examples of where EE fails for me:

- The underpass at Ealing Broadway station
- My son's swimming classes in Guildford (two different locations)
- Cwmcarn mountain biking centre in South Wales
etc etc.

If I could find a Vodafone eSIM for £2.49, I'd sign up in a heartbeat. The cheapest I've found so far is £5.95 with Talkmobile.

The mobile coverage in the UK is diabolical if you've travelled to other parts of the world like Japan.

EDIT: I think I found your £2.49 deal here.

Is Vodafone on Three now?
I was going to say that over a couple of months about two years ago I tried all 4 Networks and my results were:
1) EE
2) Three
3) Vodafone
4) O2.

I couldn't afford EE at the time so went on Smarty.
I was just giving an example that you might be able to find a very cheap Vodafone deal for £2.49 for 5gb or something.
If Three and Vodafone are now combined then you have more to go at because Smarty have good deals.

I was put off 1pmobile after looking at some terrible reviews accusing 1pmobile of being dodgy.

But reading this thread it looks like many of you have not got a problem with them so I think I will give their £55 a year package a go.

Zero problem here, how are they dodgy?

Yeah news to me, one of the things that appealed to me was that they largely use EE's backend unlike some other MVNOs that try to use their own servers etc and then arse everything up

Most of the complaints seemed to be about the top-up system, customer service being hard to reach or rude and charges etc.
They have 219 google reviews with an average score of 2.9 out of 5.

Some reviews could fake though.

I've now gone from 1p Mobile to Talk Home still on EE network.
I got a better deal.

Thanks, yeah I might go with them instead since they have a better deal, unlimited unlimited 7GB for £5 a month

I'm on 50gb for £7.49 and then i bought a prepaid Three sim from the Amazon Big River Rainforest that worked out at £2.40 a month for 3gb over 15 months.
This is for those very rare times where I might not got an EE signal but can get a Three/ Vodafone signal.
Not happened yet and i travel all over the UK.

Lucky you mentioned that because I could not see how you got such a good deal at 50gb for 7.49.

They seem to have more generous offers if it search them on google and then click through to the website that way.

I ended up with 18GB for £5.49 doing it that way so I`m very happy with that.

Some nice deals it seems with 1p mobile. I've been encouraging my wife to change to another network. Three is pretty diabolical. (I'm on EE but should consider downgrading.)

Moved back to 1p from spusu who had that awful call routing delay

Got the kids and wife on 1p also

I've been using them for the past few months after switching away from Talkmobile (runs off Vodafone) after having so many issues with losing signal at work, when it used to be absolutely fine. They've been great! Vodafone has better signal for me at home, but there's no issue there with WiFi calling, RCS messaging and WhatsApp.

I used them while in Malaysia as I did not fancy paying monthly for a service I wasn't using, just to keep my phone number active... still using them now as again I don't fancy getting a contract as my time in the UK won't be more than 6 months most likely. But Smarty offer a better unlimited plan on PAYG
