this is my 1st build and my monitor doesnt always turn on when i turn my pc on. I have to keep turning it back off, then on/ off, and so on untill it works :(

when it does work, the gc fan slows down and the pc beaps at me and i get into windows. when it doesnt work the gc fan just keeps running at a high speed... unless its the cpu fan im not sure.

it says in the manual that its the power on test and if it monitor doesnt come on within 30 seconds, its either jumper settings a connection

since iv been running it. (roughly 3 hours).. ITS CRASHED TWICE!! not even on a heavy load, something isnt right

NVIDIA nTune is teeling me the following:

CPU: 31c
system: 30c
gpu: 57c

their is 1.550 V on my cpu.

535w enermex psu
asus A8v-sli se
Amd 64 3700+ (939)
2gb xms twinx
nvidia 7600 GT

somebody please help!

Is the system overclocked?
I don't think the voltage should be at 1.55V, it should be between 1.35-1.4V I think for stock. Try resetting to defaults.

how many beeps do you get?

does your gpu come with a power cable - is it plugged in?

when you first switch your pc on keep pressing "delete" i am guessing you are getting the mobo screen which can be switched off once in the bios...

Is the RAM in the correct slots?

what happened when it crashed? did it blue screen?

It sounds like possibly your gfx is not getting enough power. You have probably already done this but I would double check that you have all your power connectors in.
You should have 3, the mainboard 24pin, additional 12v 4 pin on the mobo and the power connector for the pci-e to the gfx card.

how can i do that when i cant even get into bios??
By removing the battery and putting it in again or using the clear cmos jumpers on the motherboard to reset the bios.

its a combination of both isnt it:

for example:

a) remove battery
b) put the jumper on clear
c) wait 10 mins
d) insert battery
e) boot it up

i get one beap before anything comes up, most of the time their is no beap, nothing on the monitor what so ever, the monitor led just stays orange.

when it does boot, everything works fine.

all the power connecters are in, everything is in place as it should be. i cant think what it can be, its weird.

can you get into the bios now? did you try pressing delete from time you switch the pc on even tho it takes 30 secs for monitor to wake up?

is the RAM in the correct slots? try with 1 stick of RAM only...

when it does boot, everything works fine.
- so its not crashing now?

Mine does the same thing under certain conditions.
What he is saying is the vast majority of the time the machine will power up but not go through the boot process giving no beeps or anything probably just the hard disks spinning up. When it does boot up it gives the beep he is talking about which is the standard single boot beep.
I should think with that problem knowing if it's stable beyond that is difficult and it's not likely to be.

install prime95 found in the overclocking section guide and run that for a few hours and see if the cpu is stable....

hmmmmmm

Also try it with all the sata and ide devices removed. See if it boots better like that.
It still sounds like power to me, do you have another psu you could try it with?
I'm not saying 535W isn't enough but the supply may be bad.

EDIT Mine does a thing where the system will not boot like yours but only after I've had the psu disconnected from the system for a while. It seems to take two attempts to get enough juice back into it.

he has 7600GT, they have no external power cable, plus i noticed they use very little power even when overclocked to speed mines running at, doubt its any power issues with his GFX card, on another note is your card in the right slot, should be in the blue slot since thats primary PCI-express slot i believe

I'm sure you've probably tested it, but make sure the gf card is seated correctly - could be a lose connection.

This is the only way i can get into windows:

1 - clear cmos
2 - computer bleaps, gc slows down and i have a choice to either f1 into windows or del into bios...

i f1 into windows. she boots fine, no problems (not crashing anymore that i know of). but as soon as i turn it off or restart, it doesnt bleap or do anything untill i turn off and clear cmos again.

if i restart before i press f1 or del after clearing cmos, it bleaps and i dont have to clear cmos again. i only have to when i press f1 and windows starts to boot.

confusing stuff but am trying so hard to sort this out :(

graphics card is in place, as every other component i got. they are all in the right slots ect. anyone have any bios setting ideas??

it isnt even letting me update bios using awdflash

it says the file name isnt right :s when i download the bios file. am i supposed to put the file inside the zip onto floppy or the zip itself

Voltage for these is 1.5.

Sounds more like a PSU issue - i'd try swapping that out first.

i worked out how to update bios, so i did and now i dont have to clear msmos everytime a want to boot :D:D:D:D:D

still does the same thing tho, just not as much

aaaaaaaah the memories this brings of my first build.... I would try making sure that everything is seated right... especially the gfx card... and try getting into the BIOS
