1st may voting

I just hope he just lumps all his mistakes onto the plebs who voted for him rather than businesses and people using public transport

Shame it wont happen, just annoying the rest of us have to suffer for their mistakes

Well obviously he's got more fans in London than Ken.

I would say that Ken has more enemies in London than Boris does, and Boris acknoledged that. It was not so much a victory for Boris as a vote of no confidence for Ken and Labour. Personally I don't think he would have lost if Labour hadn't cocked everything up on a national scale.

So whats the likelyhood of Labour trying to find a credible replacement for Brown now, 75%?

Blair must be laughing somewhere now, honestly I think he would have done better because he is far more charismatic than Brown is and I don't think Labours current problems are the responsibility of the previous PM.

Next election = Tory PM, LD second and Labour 3rd?

unless brown is gotten rid of, and labour makes some major policy changes then i reckon the next general election will be 1997 #2 but with labour and the tories switching sides.

I reckon they will go with David Miliband

Except of course, that's just a poor excuse. Or are you trying to tell me that the man who won as an independant candidate in 2000 is suddenly dependant on party support?

Good point.

Also its always been the case that parties lose elections rather than win them. Saying oh ken only lost because people dont like him is quite frankly ludicrous. Thats what the vote is there for...So many people on here are quoting all the good and amazing things ken did. Well look, a majority of londoners think that either they WERENT that good afterall. Or that boris can do better, or both.

No it isn't a poor excuse, it is a simple statement of fact. Ken lost by around 100,000 votes and it is more than likely that at least that number voted Tory as a protest against the Labour government and Gordon Brown.

What a shame that people were foolish enough to cut off their nose to spite their faces, by voting in the imbecile Boris Johnson.

What next for Boris??

Will we see him as PM in a few years??

I hope so, at least it would be entertaining :D

It is this sort of mentality that got him elected. People seem to forget they aren't voting in a clown to perform in a circus, they are supposed to be electing a serious politician who gets things done. Our leaders aren't supposed to be 'entertaining'

As far as I'm concerned this can only be a good thing. I think it'll take a good year or so for us to notice any thing different, he has to bring in his assembly into check, assign roles & responsibilities as he sees fit, changes won't happen over night. Either way that quasi-communist dictator is now out of the picture. I reckon Borris is a lot more intelligent than people give him credit for, to be an MP you have to be relatively bright compared to the ill-educated scum that KL is, even if the decisions they make aren't always the best ;)
