looking a 1TB ssd for my games library.
what would be the best
have a mx100 as boot and other games currently installed library.

Personally I'd grab the cheapest name brand drive i could find. Last black Friday there were 960GB drives for £150, doubt we'll see that again but we can dream.

I'd agree. Purchased one a while ago to replace a 3tb mechanical drive.
It's been faultless in the time I've had it.

Samsung every time for SSD.

Crucial haven't been very reliable at all in my experience.

Looking forward to what WD have to offer though.

Im using a Sandisk Ultra II 960gb drive for storage of games and some other programs when needed, and a Samsung 850 Evo on another PC for the same storage, no difference between them in real world performance , apart from cost per GB.

As great as Samsung may be, (though they conned me out of cashback when I bought my 840 pro), plenty of other SSD's do he job just as well.

Looking at your motherboard i'd get the M2 variant of the MX300. Means you can do away with the SATA cable and power and move your drive onto a tidy slot on the motherboard.

i had problems with my last m.2 would only work if i disabled pci lanes/slots.

Well the Ultra II is £200 and the 850 Evo close to £300. A hefty chunk of cash more.

Maybe if they release a 1TB 750 Evo it will be worth considering. For now, no way I can jutify a 1TB SSD, which is a shame coz even 500GB is too small, when looking to ditch mechanical completely.

My 512GB Crucial MX100 has been faultless though, all the time I've had it. I've had Sammy's before mind, so I know where you're all coming from.

c.£300 now for the Evo so I'd expect at least 50 off in any sales?

my 512gb mx100 has been faultless. got in black friday year ago for 110

currently have a 240gb drevo in m laptop which is preforming nicely.
