2.0 TDCi Mondeo

dont worry there a very common car now all the parts are in breakers or ebay turbos and fuel pumps are as low as £100

Fitting £100 used turbos and fuel pumps from ebay with no warranty? How are you going to fit this ultra reliable £100 used turbo that isn't going to break and send swarf into the engine and code this £100 fuel pump exactly?

I know people from Yorkshire are stupid but.....

id deffo buy it

That's because you're ***manners***. How can you "deffo buy" a car you've never seen, inspected or driven?

The last faulty car you bought you ended up punting on ebay, at the same time lying in the ad saying you had never experienced any faults with it despite knowing full well it was burning oil and had turbo problems.

It really will make me laugh if the next duffer you buy (and then have to sell), happens by chance to be to a load of Eastern Europen henchmen with bulges in their jacket pockets.

If you think your mate looks after his car and you like the car, it could be a sensible car.

You are buying the previous owner as much as the car.

If you think he does not care about the car or don't want a mondeo estate, then walk away.

Pitty it wasnt the tddi . a lot more reliable ;) Rear subframe is not really an issue .. £80 return to replace (complete subframe with bushes) injectors can be a pain as are hpfp but i think its a fair price with a recent dmf

I'd be very tempted at that price if you do have the service history to back up what you mate has told you. My 51 plate Mondeo TDCI turned out to be a lemon but I'd still consider it from your post.

An update for you all, I bought the Mondeo and picked it up today. The MOT had an advisory for brake discs, so had these and the brake pads replaced. First impressions are awesome, much more power than the paltry 1.3L 1998 Fiesta I used to have.

Had fun reverse bay parking earlier, just took extra care due to the extra length. I've seen the DMF and clutch receipt so all is in order - just need to keep an eye on the injectors. Doing a 5 hour trip to Great Yarmouth in the next few weeks so will be much more comfortable and with cruise control :)
