2 2600xt ddr4 version in crossfire results

is this a good result for farcry? everything max, at 1680x1050

hmmm though i am an ati man myself, im not impressed with them results in the fact that my single x1900xt at stock manages a fair 165fps average @ 1280 x1024, 4xaa, 16xaf everything else enabled or highest. albeit it a smaller res but i doubt it would make 40fps average difference.

would love to see crossfire 2900XT's though, when ATi sort out the drivers a bit more and get it a bit nearer the 8800GTX i might look into it but for now its going to have to be a 8800GTX as my next card.

but my res was at 1680x1050 not 1280x1024...

at 1280x1024 it would be higher...

and anyway at that time i had a low cpu and it was killing the graphic performance. i haven't benchmarked it again since i got my new cpu..

but some of u guys are missing the point. the 2600xt does well in dx9 for the price even in dx10.. a x1xxx can never do dx10.. i agree the x19xx is faster in dx9 BUT having 200+fps is pointless when 140fps feels the same... i made this thread to show people the 2600xt isn't that bad. this thread isn't about what's better the x1xxx or 2xxx series...

Yeah it'll matter for people when the next range of cards is out, no point worrying about it now.
if it makes u happy i'll say ok..

i just know i won't be buying the range of cards untill my 2 2600xt is impossible to play the latest game releases.. and i know that'll be about year or two...

Was my motherboard jumper settings, wasnt picking up the second card @ x1  silly me! Well I will probably bench the cards tonyte, I have a green pcb Sapphire and a red pcb gecube lol! the Gecube one has a larger copper heatsink than the sapphire.
i would like to see some benchmarks at stock on e.g. 3dmark06, css, farcry. because my girlfriend just bought 2 2600xt ddr3 version i tested them theres about 10-17fps differents between my 2 2600xt ddr4 version. i wanna see if its same on yours. if isn't then maybe it's her cpu...

getting 2 of those cards would give u 6 screens lol and great performance..

does anyone know would 2 of thoses cards would work in a normal crossfire motherboard or do u need a new motherboard?

Well her cpu should certainly be faster :p

What motherboard is she using, as for me im using a DFi Infinity Black S and I expect to have similar but probably a bit slower than yours. Reason being it only operates @ 16x and 4x for the second card. The 8x by 8x configuration is definately stronger, shame iv got the 965 chipset
hers is a msi P35 Platinum motherboard...

my motherboard runs both cards at 16x....;)

to be honest crossfire wouldn't be worth it on a motherboard that can only run the 2nd card at 4x..

i think only amd motherboards can only run both cards at 16x, not intel.. but i maybe wrong about "not intel"

Well I did get my second card for £59 so it was worth it even @ 4x, 3D Mark 06 I believe is sitting at around 8050 which shows how the 4x effects it but its cheap and a nice boost! Tempted to sell both though and get a 2900xt now the HR-03 Cooler is available :)
can u post your result link..

Just got my new card installed, did a quick test and tried the built in overdrive facility in CCC.
I saw someone posting earlier that "it was well known" they were only getting clocks of 857Mhz out of these boards and no higher. Well the reason for that is that they were using the ccc. It limits your overclock to a maximum of 857Mhz, which this card hit off the bat with only a 1C increase in temps...

Looking forward to some real testing.
i clocked my 2 2600xt's ddr4 version to 880mhz using amd gpu tool. but that program it isn't good. ati tools doesn't overclock in crossfire for the 2x00 series yet..

overdrive doesn't work.. it doesn't clock it... it still saying 800mhz
