£2.5k - £3k Budget Rig with Monitor

Go 780ti don't bother with mediocre amd products :D

Some amazing un-biased advice there.. You've been a real help to this man making his decision.. Please never leave and re-consider you're view on the world because it is perfect the way it is.

:p

Just a note: 2x £599 is not £999. You'd still be within the budget, just.

Error of the shopping cart program, if you added them all up properly, it is all still £2773.37.. Trust me.

Oh im not going to disagree with that Doomed, if i had 3k to spend on a rig i would put 2 x 780ti in it too most definitely.

Just saying overall, will be interesting to see when people ask for specs on new builds how often the new 290's will be preferred on single card setups over nvidia cards.

After owning 780Ti's and 290X's i can hand on heart say there's bugger all in it.

290X wins in a few and so does the 780ti, just depends on what games your playing i guess.

I will say this though both are fantastic cards, with slightly more cons going to the 290X at the moment due to the Reference cooler.

But there's no way imo that the 780Ti is worth the extra you'd pay over a 290X.

Hi Doomedspeed

I have everything here in the overclockers basket except I changed the monitor and added a second set of memory as its only £60. Is this everything I need to be up and running after I put it together?

Thanks

Is this your first ever PC build? (Sorry if you mentioned this)

I have previously put together pre overclocked bundles from Overclockers to make a system.

I have never overclocked anything from stock speeds so may need a hand in the BIOS.

The components are pretty straight forward to put into a system and I have changed every single item in my rigs before.

Why does no one consider x79 for this type of budget and just spends a third on it on gpus ? :D. I still love the build though, I have to say you must be really exited :)

I always run stuff at stock for a couple of weeks first to allow it to bed in and make sure theres no incompatibilities anywhere. Then i start to push the clocks, usually CPU first then when i get to where im happy with that, push the GPU up to the maximum it will go then dial it back for everyday use.

With the new generation of GPU's being so powerful though, theres no real point in going to mad with them as they dont struggle to run anything anyhow.

My replacement mobo arrives tomorrow, so i will get my 4770k in hopefully and then let it run a stock for a couple of weeks, then start OC'ing and finding its limits, theres tons of guides around for Haswell chips, and these forums are a great place to ask for advice also.

it won't make a difference...

If 3 gpus or 3 1440 monitors were involved you'd be correct but for the needs haswell is perfect. :)
