2 maxtor IDE hdd 120GB do not work on single cable?

Hi guys been trying to connect 2nd 120GB hdd which i took out of my xbox as i only used it for like 3 months now in pc but will not work as slave, i get maytor !xxx error (the ID) and it does not show in windows.

i even tried ide to sata but it does not work on nvidia sata2.

the drive works fine when its on a single cable.

the other 120gb works with or without 2nd hdd connected


any ideas ?

How have you got the jumpers configured? If you haven't already tried this then I'd suggest putting them both to 'cable select' to see if that sorts it. Other than that you could try putting the hard drive onto the other IDE chain if you have one.
