Its not a realistic question to ask for alternatives for animal testing because there wont be any.

Depends on the context surely? Let us not forget that animals do not always give accurate results as to the toxicity of drugs which can then be used for humans.

Yes, because paedophiles etc shouldn't be put towards atleast some good use

No, torture is torture. Doing it to people you dislike or find morally reprehensible doesn't give you some new moral authority that makes it ok.

I'm surprised how many people are against animal testing. Why are you so against it? There is no alternative and wont be for a long time.
By a long time I assume you mean 'never'.

Computer moddelling will never be able to accurately portray something as phenomenonally intricate as the inner workings of a cell, let alone how cells work together. Even if it can approximate, it could never give proof or evidence which animal testing could.

Its a lovely thought that one day we will not have to use animal testing, but until the days we fly around in transportation tubes, its not remotely possible

Your point is irrellevent as there is still no other alternative.

Question 1.) Do you agree with Animal Testing? YES

Question 3.) Do you think that testing should be carried out on animals before humans? YES

Question 4.) Do you think that testing hurts the animals? YES

Question 5.) Do you think that more action should be taken to find alternatives to animal testing?YES

Question 6.) Do you think that the testing of beauty products on animals should be banned globally and not just in Britain? NO

Question 1.) Do you agree with Animal Testing?
No. - Would we like it if the positions were switched?

Question 2.) Do you think that the interests of animals should have the same consideration as those of human beings?
Yes. - If we can't do something on humans why should we be able to on animals that cannot defend themselves?

Question 3.) Do you think that testing should be carried out on animals before humans?
No.

Question 4.) Do you think that testing hurts the animals?
Most definately.

Question 5.) Do you think that more action should be taken to find alternatives to animal testing?
Yes.

Question 6.) Do you think that the testing of beauty products on animals should be banned globally and not just in Britain?
Yes.

.
Never say never.

I mean exactly that a long time. In a few hundred years we probably will be able to model the human body.

Maybe a silly quesion, but in the future can't these sort of things be tested with cloned organs/body parts etc?

I was going to add 'you can never say never' but it doesn't seem an appropriate thing to say to the situation based on our current abilities. Unless you are assuming that our technology is improving as such a rate that by then we are likely to improve our understanding to a cell to absolute.

The words in bold are why I refrained from making such a comment. But you are right... you can 'never say never'.

Not absolute understanding. But an understanding which is as good as animal testing. As that is 100% accurate either.

I like all the yes answers to "Do you think that the interests of animals should have the same consideration as those of human beings?"
Shall we subject mice to the courts for stealing cheese?
animals should not have anywhere near the same consideration as humans.
