All vans with exception to car derived vans are subjected to different speed limits to cars as follows. Motorway same as cars 70mph, dual carriageway 60mph not 70mph, single carriageway 50mph not 60mph
I thought that too.
Something to do with the possible variance in tyre diameter due to low/high tyre pressure and tolerance stacking in cable-driven speedometers IIRC.
Why is a Transit limited to 60?
Everyone knows someone who has been "done" for something like this. 32 in a 30, 43 in a 40, 52 in a 50 etc.

Because it is not a car derived van so is subject to the restrictions applying to goods vehicles under 7.5T.
Meaning I was received a fixed penalty notice for driving in my personal car at 43mph in a 40 limit in 2007 in South Yorkshire.
No BS, no internet 'LULZ', just huge amounts of disbelief and frustration.
I was not offered a speed awareness course as I'd got a previous conviction in 1995.
If it wasn't for my personal circumstances at the time I would have taken it to court, but it would have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
Hold on, what? You were denied a speed awareness course because of a previous convitction, 12 years prior, and before the speed awareness course was even conceived? You got proper busted.
Spot on although I'd wager 95% of transit drivers are oblivious to this!
i heard that if 70 was strictly enforced the country would grind to a halt as no one would have a license left
So is the general consensus keeping in mind how for over the limit I was still 3points and a £60 fine for each one?
