2 x 30GB VERTEX or 1 x 120GB VERTEX ???

I was gonna say go for single 120GB vertex but you've already made the correct decision

Because what makes SSDs seem so much faster than HDDs is their access time, and you get no improvement in access times when you RAID, only bandwidth improvements.

and this is why it's a waste spending loads on a Vertex for the faster STR when you can have twice the capacity with the Samsung 64GB's for the same price.

it's ONLY about the latency in the real world and 2 of the sammys are as fast/faster than a single Vertex anyway.......+ double the capacity.
