2005 French Grand Prix

M.Schumacher is still 2 seconds a lap slower than the leaders though...

But losing over 1 second a lap to Alonso over the race distance is not good.

Button only making .5s a lap on him sadly.

I want to see the condition of the bridgestones..I suspect they are on the tatty side.

Raikkonen and Alonso are holding at about 17 seconds apart

The McLaren is the class car at the moment.

I think that Raikkonen would have easily been way in the lead if he could qualify 3rd on 30% more fuel than anyone else...

Raikkonen is driver of the day for me - Alonso is a close second though...

Alonso crosses the line.

Well done Alonso...Renault win in France. :D

Revision to the 2008 rules submission..

Just seems to be that Carbon Fibre suspension will be banned and also a clarification in the fuel tank area - tanks must be totally empty when being scruiteneered at the end of the race.

Hmmmm....One for BAR there then? ;)

Will do the Silverstone thread later...

Well, isn't carbon fibre tougher than steel

In the correct direction of force yes - not in the correct direction - no.

Plus steel bends before breaking - carbon fibre snape/shatters with nearly no warning.

I suspect thats the main reason not the price as steel/aluminium alloys won't cost that much less than Carbon Fibre components in relative terms.

But their lifespan could be considerably higher..
