Oh...and an interesting news item from the FIA

So the tech regs are going to remain the same for the next 2 seasons. Yeah...right.

I'll believe this when it happens.

Its getting interesting again. Ferrari with a car and tyre package that seems a lot more competitive than the modified 2004, RB will have a new gearbox for the next qual and race (getting flown out). Trulli again good in qual, will he be as good in the race? BARs quite low in qual although they may want their engines to last more than 5 minutes in the race.

Ah well, race tomorrow :D.

Renault are on fire this year, nice to see somebody's wiping the floor with Ferrari !

By the looks of Ferrari's 2005 car though, they are on the come-back, wait until they have a couple more races under their belts to do some adjustments here & there ! I hope somebody does show Ferrari that F1 viewers dont just see red :D

Its not their fault they've been that damn good for 6 years :D.

I'n not disputing that they're good, but constant wins buy the same team just gets boring !

What ever happened to racing where driver competed for the lead, not waited for the competiton to pit in to take the lead !?

Qualifying 2 results - as I get them. Again - hidden until the ITV show starts. *Now revealed*

It's getting on the warm side there already:
Track is at 45°C and climbing
Air temp is at 38°C and climbing
Nice breeze though - 3.5m/s

Running order:
Friesacher
Albers
Monteiro
Karthikeyan
Villeneuve
Barrichello
Coulthard
Sato
Button
R.Schumacher
Massa
De La Rosa
Klien
Raikkonen
Webber
Fisichella
Heifdeld
M.Schumacher
Trulli
Alonso

Friesacher on track - front end all over the place - generally untidy - no big problems though.
Albers on track - unremarkable lap - clean
Monteiro on track - see above
Karthikeyan - untidy - very untidy
Villeneuve - Locking up at t9 - untidy.
Barrichello - was well up in s2 - pulled off the track just after the pit lane exit - oh dear
Coulthard - well up on RB. Much better than yesterdays lap.
Sato - His first Q2 session of the year. :D Ran wide at t12 - little untidy
Button - Very tidy - pretty quick too.
R.Schumacher - A clean lap *unlike yesterday* Shows that the Toyota is quick
Massa - slightly messy but slow
De La Rosa - slow in the middle sector
Klien - Very nice lap. Most improved driver I think
Raikkonen - Very tidy but surprisingly slow..couldn't see anywhere where he lost so much time
Webber - Bit of a bobble at T2 - held onto it though.
Fisichella - Untidy through T1 and T2
Heidfeld - Tidy lap
M.Schumacher - Big twitch at T4 - Quick though.
Trulli - Again slow in the middle section - all I can think of is fuel levels.
Alonso - This car is superb. I think Alonso is in with a very good shot at the title this year.

Code:
Alonso Renault 3:01.902
M.Schumacher	Ferrari 3:02.357
Trulli Toyota 3:02.660
Heifdeld	Williams-BMW 3:03.217
Webber Williams-BMW 3:03.262
R.Schumacher	Toyota 3:03.271
Klien Red Bull-Cosworth	3:03.369
De La Rosa	McLaren-Mercedes	3:03.373
Raikkonen	McLaren-Mercedes	3:03.524
Fisichella	Renault 3:03.765
Button BAR-Honda 3.04.348
Massa Sauber-Petronas 3:05.202
Sato BAR-Honda 3:05.563
Coulthard	Red Bull-Cosworth	3:05.844
Barrichello	Ferrari 3:07.693
Villeneuve	Sauber-Petronas 3:07.983
Monteiro	Jordan-Toyota 3:09.428
Karthikeyan	Jordan-Toyota 3:10.143
Albers Minardi-Cosworth	3:10.422
Friesacher	Minardi-Cosworth	3:11.261

I suspect that some of cars are carring some odd levels of fuel.

Ferrari are ripping the rear end of Barrichello's car apart - Still no official news.
Still no news from Ferrari - Apparently the Head of Race engines went up to Ross Brawn when RB's lap started - but they are removing the gearbox from the car though - could be engine or gearbox.

Alonso nailed it. Superbly driven.

Just heard - another gearbox failure for Barrichello - they don't have a spare - will they be able to cobble a gearbox together from the remains of the other 2?

Barrichello's gearbox has been replaced before qualifying 2 without penalty.

Although it's looking like he's buggered it again

5 Live extra reporting that RBs new gearbox has a failure. They are now worried about MSs gearbox.

*cough* Check the hidden text in the above posts... ;)

Does this make Rubens a box muncher now? ;) :D

Bahrain GP grid

Please remove the times - I've hidden them deliberately for people who don't want to know.

Same as I've done since I started doing this last year..

highlight the contents of the boxes...it'll show up then. *just reinstalled firefox to try it - works in that as well..now uninstalling it again*

Oh..if anyone wants to know thew codes to do this for the light blue background it's and for the dark blue it's :D

Using firefox here and have never seen any problems (i.e. it should be hidden :)).

Edit: doesn't this BB have any spoiler tags?

Dunno...could be a code mod..

Oh..and a little bit of fun..An Asiatech V10 powered F1 car warming up.. ;)

http://www.flibster.eclipse.co.uk/F1/Other Files/asiatech_v10.mp3

Listen first - then read the below bit. :D

How it was done..
As we all know, a V10 engine produces five combustions per revolution at a frequency per second of 60/(5 x revs per minute), which equals 12/rpm. Therefore, to work out the revs you need to hit a particular musical note, you multiply the note's frequency by 12.
To play a 440Hz "A", for example, you need 5,280rpm. For "C", use 3,139rpm, for "F" 4,191rpm, and so on. Asiatech's French technicians (the engine, despite its name, is derived from a Peugeot design) simply programmed their engine to run through the various rev/note ranges in the correct sequence
