Aye, stuffed it into the tyres at Parabolica - not a nice place to drop it.

Not a good sign for the weekend, he has to score more than Alonso or he'll be mathematically unable to win the championship, a position he's not been in since 1999.

M.Schumacher ended up going backwards into the tyre wall at the Parabolica. Started to get it very wrong even before the corner.

Kiesa broke down on his out lap in S2

Barrichello had a iffy moment that caused Raikkonen to take evasive action.

Surprises: Williams seem to be going well. Renault seems to be surprisingly far down.

Red Bull Racing AND Red Bull USA in F1 anyone?

Red Bull interested in buying Minardi team

On Saturday Paul Stoddart will meet a delegation from Red Bull to talk about a possible buy-out. Red Bull is interested to take over Minardi and create 'Red Bull Team USA' for the 2006 F1 season.

From a reliable source F1Racing.net was told, "Paul Stoddart will meet Red Bull on Saturday to talk about selling the Minardi Formula One team. It is not clear how far the negotiations are but the interest of Red Bull is very serious."

If Red Bull would buy the Minardi team they would run two F1 teams next season; the current Red Bull team and Red Bull Team USA. Scott Speed has definitely got the biggest chance to become Red Bull Team USA's first driver.

This was a surprise this morning...

Pizzonia replaces Heidfeld at Monza

Nick Heidfeld will not take part in this weekend's Italian Grand Prix at Monza for WilliamsF1.

After driving in Friday's Free Practice sessions yesterday, Nick experienced a strong headache and this morning, together with the team, decided not to continue his on track duties.

Nick crashed whilst testing at the Autodromo di Monza at Lesmo One on August 26th, and will now rest for a few days to recuperate completely in order to return to the cockpit as soon as possible.

Nick said: "I spoke with Gary Hartstein and Sid Watkins this morning and they both recommended that I did not drive."

The team's reserve driver Antonio Pizzonia will take Nick's place for the rest of the weekend. This will be Antonio's 16th Grand Prix. His last race was here, in Monza.
