2007 GOTY prediction thread

Mario Galaxy, Smash Bro's or Call of Duty 4 (PC)


I sure Mario kart Wii isnt out till next year

why? its looking pretty damn good from what i've seen so far, the dog system looks excellent, combat looks great fun and a distinct change from anything out there. All in all its looking like a highly original game, something theres far too little of now a days. The original was brilliant, only faults being it didn't live up to the ridiculous things peter molenueux was saying it would be able to do in development. He says he's learned his lesson now and is genuinely trying to make us feel over emotions in gaming rather than just fear.

It won't a preview from Tech-Bit wasn't so impressed with it so far, it will definately win some graphic technology awards and what not though.

For 2008 GOTY it would be out of Alan Wake, Fable 2, MGS4 and that new Mario game I think.
 
Low hopes for Fable 2; remember Fable 1. It was nowhere near the scope of the vision for the game, and was incredibly linear. The same can be said for Killzone 2, they both had mediocre prequels.

It will probably go to the fourth Halo game for 2008 (there is another one in development aside from Halo 3 and Halo Wars, same development team as Halo 3 according to Kotaku interview with Frank Connor!). The one with Peter Jackson on board. Might go to Mario Kart or MGS4 also.

Mario Kart and Smash Brothers are both 2008 games in Europe. Mario Kart is 2008 everywhere as well.


It's gonna be Bioshock. The 10s from all the 360 mags/sites will see to that. I agree that it will top Zelda and take the top all-time spot as well. As much as i think Mario Galaxy will win a lot of GOTY awards, it will not win based on gamerankings.

Good scores dont mean goty. Mass Effect has the best chance since its the only stand out Western RPG and if they pull it off it will stand out. Too many FPS games coming out.
 
An abundance of a certain genre does not in anyway diminish chances of such a game from getting GOTY. I don't know what gave you that idea.

Previous goty winners.

Whos single player experience will be better, mass effect or Bioshock?

Obviously we cant answer that for sure yet, but my money is on the guys at Bioware.
