Is he suggesting that Lewis was slipstreaming Kimi?

Lewis himself is, so it wouldn't take much for Trulli to do so. ;)

Lewis Hamilton said:
"I had taken a short cut and I knew I had to let him pass," Hamilton said.

"That's what I did. Then I got back in his slipstream and got through again at the next corner."

Yet to hear a current driver coming out and out-right supporting Hamilton on this one (not been looking though). Even his own teammate, Pedro de la Rosa, said during his commentating on Spanish TV that it was more than questionable.
Pedro de la Rosa said:
Lewis is on the limit of legality.

Former McLaren driver Alex Wurz on ORF:
Alex Wurz said:
I wouldn't do that in Hamilton's place.

Maybe the last two quotes equate to drivers that will never be remembered in the same league as Senna, Mansell,Schumacher etc.

Sometimes to be the best you are prepared to go that little bit further.

further than the rules allow? something senna schumacher and mansell have fallen foul off
it is interesting that nobody on the grid seems to think lewis was harshly treated but i guess they dont know that much about f1

De la Rosa and Wurz have had two days to think of a comment, Lewis had a split second to make a decision.

F1 drivers should stick to driving and let other people decide what is wrong or right, I bet they would have done just the same thing as Lewis if they had to decide that quick and would have seen the car in front brake so early.

The only drivers that have spoken out in lewis favour are those that are retired and have nothing to lose. Those still in the circus know better than to speak out. Which is why we have a grid full of zero personality robots. Or atleast guys that have to hide it well.

Give me the timecode for the bit in this video where Lewis is in his slipstream ;)

Yes I know what Lewis said but that's what comes of having the media record and publish your every word.

If you were a current driver would you go round mouthing off about how poor their judgement was or would you try and chat them up a little, telling everyone how they got it right? PDLR, Trulli and Wurz have a lot more to lose than Lauda or Sir Jackie!

To paraphrase PDLR: further towards the limits of legality. To suggest that because Senna, Schumacher and Mansell all broke the rules at some point in their careers means that Lewis must have broken them this time is spurious in the extreme!

See comments above from myself and Danny

Lewis has said it at least twice now though..

TBH PDLR and Wurz have more to gain backing Hamilton that dissing him. In fact PDLR should be toeing the party line and saying it was legit, after all he is LH's team mate.

Whoever said they have had days to think of a response, going by someone elses post, PDLR said there during the race commentary.

What was that saying: 'Don't bite the hand that feeds you'

If I was a F1 driver I would not critisize the FIA decision at all and keep my mouth shut, PDLR and AW can afford to speak out as they are testdrivers with little hope of a new seat in F1

Exactly, so PDLR should be standing up for the team he is in. Even if it is negligible, he should be saying it was legal tbh.

lol seems you guys will just keep making excuses and believe what you want
yes sure all the f1 drivers are too afraid to be honest
how about when alonso took to the press at monza with his not a sport comments? he was not afraid was he?

but he did break the rules that is why he got a 25 second penalty
thats why he got a penalty in france thats why he got a penalty in canada
surely its not all the big bad fia picking on the poor mclaren driver right?

i would say lauda and company have more to lose as they can get their paddock passes removed which is their life now lol

Yeah because PDL has been shown to be a complete team player and a stand up member of the community ;)

He was probably told what to say in another email from ferrari ;)

I dont think there is anymore to be gained in even debating it, why not wait to see whats said this weekend. I'm sure wuite a few drivers will be busy answering questions about it in the various press conferences :D

That's some amazing footage, the thing that gets me is that Lewis cutting the corner and whether or not people agree that he gained an advantage had no bearing on the out come of the race, its not as though he stole the win from Kimmi as he had lost it as soon as the rain started.
Also if Ferrari thought it was a suspect move why didn't they put a complaint in to the FIA as they have already said they didn't put a complaint in, i bet until all this ruckus started they probably didn't see anything wrong with the move.

Not sure if this video has been posted before but: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6ovii_wwwformulamagcom-hamiltonkimi_sport

It's an onboard camera from Hamilton. Watch it from about 40 seconds onwards.

Nice video that :)

Not much of a slipstream there, although he does pass behind for a 10th of a second. I'm sure next race weekend it will all be clarified ;)

Whilst he was stealing information from Ferrari you mean??

/big can of worms, alllll over the place.

:D

When did PDLR say it was illegal?

You mean Monza 06 (Massa blocking incident) when he was reigning world champion? And in the last 2 years he's had no run-ins with the stewards  Perhaps the other drivers are looking at the treatment of Alonso (as someone who spoke out) and deciding that they don't want to the treated the same way?

but he did break the rules that is why he got a 25 second penalty

Yes he got a penalty but that doesn't stop us discussing whether it was the right decision. You can't argue with the Canada penalty, the evidence is clear, Lewis was daydreaming and caused the accident.

So a paddock pass is worth more than a super licence?
