2009 Ashes Series - England vs. Australia **Spoilers**

I don't think they would've have made that much of a difference, not 300+ runs !

What of their effect on the sides involved. The commentary team stated what the Aussies said were England's two biggest threats and they're both gone.

When both fit England are a different side. In terms of bowling Freddie gives a lot (albeit not all the time). Batting; he can sometimes do but Pietersen is a huge loss. He's the player that so many different opponents have come out and said is the biggest catch.

Not only are these two guys not there, but now, maybe apart from Strauss (who next innings must somehow get a big knock) there's nothing there that can even get us near to a draw.

You mean the bowler that's not really a wicket taker (although is, in fairness, a very important part of the team) and the batsman that hasn't made any runs all series?

Fact of the matter is that our entire team hasn't been good enough this match; we can't cite injuries to two players who, while both world class, hadn't had great series so far anyway.

Even though both have been carrying injuries England have been a much better team with them. Much more dangerous.

Freddie has lead with the ball in a few innings even with his knee. Pietersen has got a half century in one and rode out a very tight spell in another (with a serious achilles injury).

This test match is all but over, unless our finnest british weather comes along as saves us, talking of rain they did say its a high possibility monday and tues, can we survive as hole day at the crease :D

So in all likely hood a decider at the Oval, Flintoff should be back, Brett Lee will be back for Aussie's it should be a close one as long as there are no major injuries inbetween time time it could bring us to another superb climax to the ashes series.

Dodgy decision or not, Hilfenhaus has been superb..highest wicket taker so far in the series...definitely put a dent in Englands hope of winning this or even getting a draw.

Bopara is absolutely useless imho...why hes playing ill never understand..sure hes had a few good knocks but hes done sweet FA in this series...although he was unlucky to get out but thems the breaks.

People focus too much on Bopara, who hasn't been useless in this series?

Does this test bring back peoples memories of the 1990's days or what.

Shane Warne and Glen Mcgrath aren't playing today are they...

Absolutely shocking display by England.

Could England have actually played any worse in this test match? Flippin Zimbabwe would have put up more of a fight than we have!!

I seem to remember a farmer or a part timer ripping tough England years ago. Might have been Zimbabwe or South Africa, can't remember which.

5 wickets down:eek:...another epic batting collapse by England.

Mitchell finally bowling well for a change.
