Ok well my 9000 BOLD multi tasks without miminum of fuss...thats about 2 yrs old now.

Point being is that no phone needs a dual core cpu lol..thats just stupid and ridiculous....unless the iphone is now a high end gaming machine

nothing NEEDS anything... but thats progress. I'm all for more powerful CPUs in mobiles, means they errr run faster and smoother, and lets face it many current handsets 'chug' when running many apps at once.

Until CPUs catch up with what we want from our devices I'm happy with my 3GS, I do one thing at a time at uber speedz

Problem with multitasking on phones is they end up crashing a lot... thats one good argument from Apple not to implement it.

Sony seem to have that end of the market sewn up pretty good.

As regards task switch on windows mobile, its great, you press the close button, read a text, check the weather, tap the drop down and tap the program, bang its straight back there.

My HD2 does not slow down or stutter when switching between programs, ok it does have a 1ghz cpu and plenty of system ram but its certainly posible to run with out a hiccup.

Hmmm let me see...BB 9700 Bold that has 5 apps open at all times...oh and ive got 3 other apps running without any slowdown or crashes...also my BB Storm2 has the same amount of apps running along with 3 other apps...in fact i was playing a game this morning on my S2...i havent closed the app down but yet magically the phone works ie texts, calls and emails...

As for uber speedz...my 9700 blazes through things extremely quick...must be that 600+mhz cpu that it uses...but the best thing is that even with 10 apps open its still damn bloody quick and heres the killer....my battery life doesnt die like a match unlike the iphone 3GS where to get even a decent battery life, you need to turn off push email and 3G...i dont need to do such things lol

Your arguement that apple dont need to implement multi tasking in the iphone because phones that multi task crash a lot is quite frankly ridiculous...perhaps the early smartphones that was the case but now its not...most phones ie smartphones like Android, Winmo and even the Nokia N900 all multi task with ease and simplicity...Im not a fan of winmo but their devices dont seem to have any issues multi tasking.

Now i do wonder why Apple and their beloved iphone cant even do the most basic of functions...that for me is the biggest fail of the iphone itself...dont get me wrong for what the iphone does, which lets face it not a lot it does pretty well. Id get one in a heartbeat and use it alongside my BB...then id have the best of both worlds....its one of the reasons why im waiting to see what apple bring to the table later this year...in fact a few weeks ago i could have bought the iphone 3GS 32gb for a very good price...my cousin had one and wanted £300 for it brand new and boxed but after considering it i thought ill wait for the new iphone to come and see what it has...

But a dual core cpu??..as i said that will be interesting to see how efficient they make it if the rumours are true but in all honesty its quite frankly ridiculous to have a dual core cpu in a phone...

Shape wise I dont see them changing much. Probably larger screen with OLED technology with higher Res. Probably front facing camera for chat, and a better camera with some sort of flash.

Does anyone actually use that camera? I've had a forward facing camera for 3g calls on my last 3 phones and only used it twice, both times to "test" it with the person sat next to me. In fact it seems to be going out of fashion as some of the new phones (think the HD2 for one) have now got rid of it.

TBH i hope it doesn't allow multi tasking. It is a pain going in to a task manager all the time to stop apps.

If you use WinMo then there is a setting to change that stops the program instead of minimises when you press the X.

IMO Apple really need to pull something out the bag to keep their market share, they are already bleeding customers who are now out of contract for the 3G and it will only get worse as Android gets stronger and WinMo 7 comes out (especialy if its equivilent to Win 7 on the PC). People are getting bored of the OS IMO, yes it's fluid but they dropped their dumb phone for it and now it just seems to be a tiny step up from them.

The iPhone 3GS 32GB is definitely a beast of a device, so many apps and possibilities, I'd always feel a certain 'lack' by switching to anything inferior.

May be a good time to sell it now though, before prices really start falling, and put the money towards the 2010 when it's released. Should still get £500-600 for it

Good luck with that... Sim free from Apple they are only just over £500...

Just because you got fleeced on a contract doesn't mean the phone is expensive!

In fact with multiple programs open I've never gone above around 70% RAM usage and the phone certainly hasn't crashed/slowed down due to it.

IMO the iPhone OS is getting boring. We need to be able to change the black background to anythng we want without having to jailbreak etc.

I have my little annoyances with BB's believe it or not but unlike iphone fanboi's i dont see my BB's as THE best devices that money can buy...if someone asks me about them then im more than happy to pass on my knowledge of BB's....to me it just sounds like your slightly bitter there or jealous that i know my BB's inside out.

Winmo 6.5 is a fudge at trying to get a ancient OS finger friendly, it's outdated and underperforming, it makes even the 'non multitasking' iphone feel like a dream come true and to use.

I'm not a fan boy, I hate Apple, but as a business tool it's perfect for me..

If 4G brings OLED, better cam and multitasking to the table I'll snap one up as soon as I can, it's all it really needs to be market leader again feature wise

I can't wait... it will push the other manu's / OS providers to raise the bar, and thats a good thing for everyone.

Iphone is a benchmark for all phones, thats why time and time again everything is compared to them when reviewed... can't beat abit of competition to push progress

See thats where i agree with you...i dont hate apple although Tummy thinks i do lol but he sadly misguided...if Apple brings new things to the table so to speak then great because its only going to make manufacturers like BB, Android and even Winmo sit up and take notice and thats a good thing imho. Im not 100% sure that ill get one but ill consider it when they release it but im very interested in seeing what apple do.

For me my BB's, 9700 and Storm2 are excellent business devices and personal devices...they do everything i throw at them with minimum of fuss...even my old 9000 Bold did things pretty well but did struggle a few times.

The iphone for me revolutionised the whole phone market...it sits nicely between a smartphone and dumbphone....smartphone in that it does emails, browses the web quite well and dumbphone where even my 6yr old nephew can pick up my sis in laws iphone 3G and play with it quite easily.

So why does it really bother you if i talk up BB's so much??...have you not got anything better to do but to come in here and act like a troll but fail miserably at it...the other day you asked me if i work with BB's or work for Blackberry which had nothing to do with the topic but yet you felt the need to ask the question...i answered it even though i should have just dismissed your question with a rolleyes.

Talk is cheap tbh. It isn't massively relevant what the tech spec is, it will sell. It should be good, it should also help push the boundaries.
