2012/2013 Player Injuries Discussion/updates

Thought this would be an ideal thread to make to discuss and update everyone on player injuries and recovery ect.

Not sure on other teams injury list but UTD's list is looking troublesome.

Jones - 1 month
Smalling - 2 months
Evans - Not match fit
Rio - 1-2 months?
Fletcher - no return date

and Vidic is just back after 8+ months out.

Other long term injuries

Micah - 2 months
Parker - 1 month
Sagna - 2 months
Wilshire - 2 months

I think for this thread to not take away from the other discussion threads we should keep it primarily on player injuries and nothing else.

If this thread seems abit excessive, I have no problem with a mod removing it.

No, Rio is looking likely that he is out for a month, been reported by quite a few places including Telegraph.

Evans will return soon, he's in training but not match fit.

Oh, I read on the play by play that he hurt his ankle.

Aguero appears to be in some pain following that challenge. The City physios are giving plenty of attention to his ankle. Mario Balotelli is warming up now.

It was his knee that got twisted and caught, BBC feed also has this at 17:16.

I've got some injury news to bring you about Sergio Aguero. He is reportedly going to have an MRI scan on his knee to ascertain the damage he suffered in the challenge with Nathaniel Clyne.

Correct.

This is if the reports about Rio are true, it hasn't been confirmed/denied by anyone at the club.

FFS he's been fit ALL pre season and then as soon as there's an actual game he's injured? ***** sake :mad:

Still nothing on the UTD site.

This might cost us big time. Even with Vidic back, our defense is looking a mess.

Rumours of Aguero being out for 6 months are gathering pace.

What a blow for Man City if true... they'll no doubt have to buy a new striker.

Looking through Rio's timeline he certainly never eluded to any injury and even acknowledged taking part in training yesterday, guess we'll find out in about 20 hours time one way or another

What about Marveaux? He didn't even make the bench for the spurs game. He has been tremendous in pre-season. Hopefully not another injury hit season, as I had big hopes for him. He was even in my fantasy team...
