2012 NASCAR thread

:D

Can't see that one lasting any longer than this weekend, but it's a neat idea to get around lapped traffic.

***edit***

Ugh. **** debris cautions. **** them right in the ear.

Yeah, they paved the inside of the dogleg when they re-did the track last year, drivers are able to cut right inside on there now.

Cool. Cheers JRS.

She's fallen asleep, chucked Motors on. I do like the little bits they have with that mock up cockpit and other components to explain what the driver is doing.

This is why I live by myself, so I can watch NASCAR whenever.

Or maybe I live by myself because I watch NASCAR whenever.

Lol.

Part of me wishes we had some of the US adverts. That leader cam with no commentary can get a bit monotonous.

Are the cars with the Dodge Charger looking front ends that CoT concept they were talking about?

Nah. The new CoT concept is for the 2013 Cup series. Not sure what they're doing with the Nationwide cars to be honest, but I suspect they'll fall in line with the Cup car aero package eventually.

Cool. The Dodge Nationwide cars have a refreshingly different look to them. The style of all the cars has got a bit samey recently. Good branding for Dodge, making them stand out.

#43 nearly kept it off the wall there, and it just snatched back on him. Hope he didn't pop the tyre.

Wow, Goodyear have analysed the tyre already, found out what was wrong, and told the commentators! How long did it take us to get any information about Vettels puncture at Abu Dhabi?

From the madness of Daytona to an average race in Phoenix.

Congrats to Salder with the win, not heard that name on the top step in awhile.

It was quite a good race i thought. Interesting that they can kind of go down on the dogleg. It doesn't seem to be quicker, but it seems to get you track position which in turn makes the normal route slower. Obviously if it was quicker to do that they would all do it every lap.

Feed is down? Was hoping to catch the nationwide live. Guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow for that now.

He got pulled around by the aerodynamic effect of Trevor Bayne going around the outside. Tried to correct, the tyres got some bite, and bam! Right into the wall. Just an unlucky deal. It was good to see him get out of it okay.

Besweeet's streaming channel is currently here, by the way. Just in case some of you don't read his tweets. He should be showing the Cup race there later.
