Anyone see that flare hit the pitch?!?!

There was just the one on the pitch. The ones in the stand before the game looked quite good. Security is good at Wembley so I guess they had them stuffed down their pants. One fan did manage to got on the pitch in the second half.

The Polish fans were a jolly lot and lot of drink was flowing before the game. Their scarf waving is very impressive. It's a shame that our support never manages to get anywhere near the level of noise they make and the band verges on the pathetic. It would be amazing to have a Wembley crowd drown out the opposition but sadly it will never happen.

I didn't think Townsend was that good  very little end product, even after realising he had about 30mph on the left-back that was attempting to mark him. The shot that hit the bar was very good but apart from that, meh.

Sturridge trying to overcomplicate things unnecessarily is realy quite frustrating too. Shooting from 30 yards / silly, unnecessary step overs / back heels for no reason. He's a very talented footballer but, well, a bit of a ****.

Welbeck. Erm. Defended pretty well for Poland to be honest.

Teams for the play-offs are:

Croatia, Sweden, Romania, Iceland, Portugal, Greece, Ukraine and France.

The draw will be on 21st October, play-offs to be on 15th and 19th November. England will have two friendlies at Wembley which will be announced shortly. These look to be against Australia and Germany.

Anyone else see the interview on SSN with Tim Vickery about what to expect at the World Cup?...he was basically giving people advice on what to do if you are held up at gunpoint!

LOL stay out of the Favela's for a start;). Looks like i might be going as my brother and a few of his mates are going to the WC next year, hes currently trying to get tickets for the Brazil and Argentina games so if he can then wooohooo im off to Brazil next summer to watch some footie.

Should be fascinating if you can make it out there, hope it works out for you. :) I will be able to apply for England tickets but I'm going to enjoy the tournament from somewhere closer to home.

Looking back at the stats last night Gerrard's were actually pretty decent, 84% pass completion isn't fantastic but if you're attempting more of the riskier passes and to players like Welbeck there is a chance you won't get a completion. Also making the most passes too.

Lots of interceptions and key passes too

I knew it would be Welbecks fault, he's that **** he makes Gerrard try stupid passes :D

England Creativity - Key passes

Player Key passes
Steven Gerrard 6
Danny Welbeck 4
Wayne Rooney 3
Andros Townsend 2

So he made 2 more key passes over the God awful Welbeck. Does that mean that Welbeck is nearly as good as Gerrard?

England Midfielders - Passing accuracy

Player Minutes Passes Accuracy
Michael Carrick 71 66 94%
Steven Gerrard 90 72 85%

Like I said, I don't think he had a good game, his passing was atrocious at times and luckily he had Carrick next to him.

Welbeck. Erm. Defended pretty well for Poland to be honest.

Welbeck won us the ball dozens of times. Plenty of attacking movements began with Welbeck pinching the ball off a Polish dude. Unfortunately, he was useless whenever he got close to the goal.

Get me those charts with Gerrard's misplaced passes and who they were too.

I can remember the 5 yarder in the opening minute in which someone tried to turn a player and let the ball run out of play, I'm sure that was a 'missed' pass.

Also if thats a bad game by Gerrard with 6 key passes, 5 interceptions, 84% accuracy and a goal to kill the game off I'd probably take it over, well pretty much any other England midfielder.

It also doesn't state which team Welbeck made key passes for so your point is invalid.
