According to the Telegraph, Hodgeson tried to call up Carl Jenkinson but Fifa needed three weeks to clear him or soemthing. Not a bad idea in my opinion, on the balance of things, even taking into account my Arsenal bias, he is one of the in form RB in the country at the moment. I think he can attack better than the poor performance that Walker put in on Friday.

His form this year is a lot better than when he was first picked up off CAFC and looked like a rabbit in the headlights (CAFC supporting friend was a surprised they made money off him as he wasn't great in L1). The 3 weeks are because he originally declared for Finland (in L1) to get u21's international football but hasn't played for the int team so can switch back to England.

Our current RB problem (a complete lack of playable RB's) does need addressing, I am waiting for Clyne to get the attention of England, really starting to like the guy and think he should in the future become England's RB.

It is just crazy how Hodgson would rather call up Jenkinson over Richards.

Last season he was by far the best English RB getting the most clean sheets and combined goals/assists. This season he has played one game and was incredible at CB. Ok, Sunderland arent the best team but he still played very well and was unlucky not to score.

The thought of you lot suffering tonight made me change my mind. :p

You should have downed the plane. Your name would have lived on, I'd have named my first child after you.

Can not stand Chiles. I'd turn him to pink mist given half the chance. Terrible human.

It's a very grey and wet afternoon here so I guess they will have closed the roof of the stadium for the game.

I'm a bit confused by this too, can't get a look in at City or England at the moment.

He can't get a look in at City?
He is first choice when he is fully fit, he's had a bad injury this season hence only the one game. Zaba has become 10x the player he was so he is running Richards close for the starting place now.
*awaits DM coming in with Zaba starting the last 6 games last season*

He refused to go on "standby" didn't he?
Which is fair enough in my opinion, as I said he was the best English arguably the best RB last season yet he was asked to go on standby which is quite frankly an insult.

Walker whilst being physically great has little to no defensive ability and bar the odd admittedly great goals he is poor going forward. Johnson surprised me in the Euro's and looked a lot better but still isn't near Richards imo.

I honestly don't think there is too much between them, nor do I think it's an 'insult' to be put on stand by for your national side. I think it's a case of being too big for your boots so to speak. You should never turn your back on your country in that way, if you're not picked or put on stand by, it should make players work harder.

It's an honour to play for your national side, dangerous ground if you start expecting to be picked.

It has gone absolutely BONKERS at the U21 match.

Fighting, missiles, apparent chants etc, punches being thrown, going absolutely mental.

Love it when football goes a bit mental, not enough in this country

It was seemingly down to racial abuse being thrown at Danny Rose and it all got massively out of hand, kicks and punches being thrown everywhere. Totally **** behaviour from Serbia.

For me, I'm glad that it doesn't happen in this country, because it isn't cool at all.
