2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifying 7/8/11 September *** Spoilers ***

As usual we have an England manager who calls up a few players from smaller clubs, pretends they might get involved, then ultimately use the same useless players from the big clubs. We bought Welbeck on to play on the wing, incredibly badly, instead of an actual winger.... great.

Yep nothing will change and we all do this face -_-

Shame as playing Ox as a winger might have been sensible, or even bringing on Lallana or Sterling (who are actually good on the wing) could have made an impact.

But meh England management does need the mindless support of the top 4-5 clubs...

That wasn't the best performance from England to say the least, but it's very early days yet so hardly a disaster. The ref was rubbish, he disallowed a perfectly good Defoe goal because the Ukraine player went down like he'd been shot, and handed out bookings like they were confetti.

I'd disagree that Welbeck was terrible DM, I thought prior to him and the other subs coming on, England didn't look like getting back in the game. After the substitutions it was all England and had we had another 5 mins we almost certainly would have scored a winner. I thought Konoplianka was really good for Ukraine, he showed composure on the ball when he got it, had the skill to beat players, has lots of pace, and scored a really good goal.

Overall, England played poorly and a draw is probably the most we deserved to get out of the game, but we weren't helped by an incompetent referee.

Lampard MOTM LOL :)
Didn't understand the logic of Bertrand on for Baines when we are 0-1 down, especially with the latter's dead-ball threat.

Was Baines injured or something? Couldn't fathom why he was brought off.

Lol, beat me to it.

Massive support for the USA against Jamaica tonight!

Graham Zusi making his first competitive appearance for the US and he's jut hit the bar.

What a dire performance, no effort, no movement, no incisiveness. There was more movement from the woman sitting next to me then there was from our midfield. It was collective crap. Ukraine weren’t exactly good but at least they appeared to inspire more confidence than us.

The only saving grace is that we will have players coming back from injury for the San Marino game but that still doesn’t guarantee that we will score more than Montenegro did last night. I was looking forward to the Poland game and this morning I’m not. It's now a game we can't afford to lose.

The only good things about last night’s game:

Doesn't mean we wont struggle against Montenegro or away against Ukraine...

Makes the group very difficult for us to qualify from.

Im not that confident we will to be honest. I dont think we will beat Ukraine away and I think we will struggle against Montenegro..

It's a tough group ther will be plenty of twists and turns along the way!

We beat Ukraine in their own back yard a few months ago so why after one draw to people suddenly think we are incapable of repating that?

It's classic football fan syndrome when the team win they are great when they loose they are dire, truth be told we are somewhere in the middle England at best have a good side but not a great one. Last night we created a number of chances that on a different night would have seen us win by two or three and the only reason the Ukraine got a point was becuase someone pulled out a great strike from 30 yards. These things happen take the positives and move on we are still as likely to top the group as we are to fail to qualify!

Scotland were hopeless and we won't qualify.

I watched the Belgium game then saw the Scotland highlights Belgium should wipe the floor with Scotland a much more entertaining team.

Yet and I say this despite what I've seen Scotland always seem to start slowly in the groups then gain some ground also I can't seem to by a ticket from SFA for the Belgium game despite me being Scottish and living in Belgium so annoying wanted to go with my 5 aside football mates. Don't know what the chances are gettting a ticket outside the stadium

Few comments from Roy:

Roy said:
"I leave Wembley a lot more confident that we have a group of players who will take this England team to Rio."
Doesn't say much for his level of confidence beforehand if he is now a LOT more confident!

Roy said:
"At the end of the day, we have had two youngsters starting the game. They have come off and we have replaced them with three other youngsters,"
Guess he's been taking Maths lessons from Graham Poll.

Roy said:
But the next 75 minutes, we dominated the game totally.
Again very concerning if he considers england to have 'totally dominated' the game, yes England were arguably the better side and created more chances but in my book having only 50% possession, 50% of the goals and letting the opposition put some moves together is not what I call totally dominant. Vs Moldova, fair enough, vs Ukraine, I don't think so.

Not going to start on his reference Tom "Cesc" Cleverley, the guy who at 23 has started fewer than 10 matches for MU and never scored (I actually quite rated him when he was on loan at Wigan but due to injury and whatever else he hasn't really kicked on since).
