2014 IndyCar / Mazda Road to Indy season

Bit of a mess there - Hunter-Reay a bit optimistic?

Yeah, it was. A blind corner and no run-off didn't really give Hinchcliffe and co any room to avoid Newgarden.

Mike Conway takes the win at Long Beach, Will Power is second and the rookie Carlos Munoz holds off Montoya for third.

Nice to see JPM up at the sharp end.

Helped a bit by the attrition, although he was in the top 10 early on. Munoz did a good job holding onto third there.

Shame about the delay, but some exciting racing and interesting to see the drivers with European racing backgrounds struggle in the wet. Ryan Hunter-Reay in control, Marco Andretti second and Scott Dixon third.

Well that was disappointing, sat down with my tea ready to watch the race and due to delay watched 2 and a half ours of not a whole lot, just as the drivers were getting strapped into their cars the recording ended :( :p

Oh well, will perhaps have to try catch a rerun... Good to see that Justin Wilson had a good result though 16th to 6th :)

Well you spoiled yourself now, so I guess I may as well discuss details :p the most entertaining thing in the early laps was Montoya doing a Schumacher-esque drive through the field up to about 4th, only to spin off into the gravel at the turn 8-9 kink :p
