The little buggers. The window has been open on a few occasions. They leave that sticky residue everywhere!

Terrible year for growing outside. Mine got too wet too often and have all sprouted big but bland chillies. Some are not even hot at all!

I had an initial harvest of around 10 chillies and have had very little since. I've got probably 20/30 green chillies growing, but no signs of ripening.

After my disastrous germination early this year (0/80) I got five annuums from my dad which he had germinated from shop-bought chillis. They cropped really well but were neither hot nor tasty. I'll be using them to bulk out this year's sauces. In May I found some cheap young orange habanero plants in B&Q and took a punt on two of them, despite it being late. Then a guy, to whom I gave some naga plants a couple of years ago, turned up with a young naga and a chocolate hab plant. They were even further behind than the orange habs.

Anyway, the orange habs are now ripening:

but the naga and choc hab have mostly minifruit and are not yet ripening.
