2015 FA Community Shield … Arsenal v Chelsea … Sunday 2nd August *** spoilers ***

lol I guess you a Chelsea supporter game was far from dull, again JM showed his total lack of class, I agree its not all one sided but it certainly is mostly him!

No, dont support either team. Neither side were particularly good, Arsenal just a little better and took one of the rare chances.

I'll take that, winning via parked bus against Chelsea. :)

:D always a pleasure to see a parked bus get beaten:p

Well done Arsenal, about time we broke our jinx against Chelsea \0/. Caught the end of the game and saw that Mourinho threw his runners up medal into the crowd...what a class act he is. I see that Wenger completely ignored Mou when he went to shake his hand:p, wonder what little barbs Mou will come out with when asked about it.

I see Chelsea fans saying that its only the community shield when we were celebrating our win today...yeh sure its a largely worthless trophy but it didnt stop you lot from celebrating when you won it yourselves:p. Personally im not really celebrating the win, rather its the win over anti football that Mou likes to play. For me thats a reason to celebrate.

Or they say this

I didnt see any anti football being played. Both teams were pretty equal.

.....or this

Well he didn't watch the game as he said. You can't really have much of an opinion on the type of football when you watch the end :D

Don't have an issue with him throwing away a runners up medal either. Something nice for a fan to treasure despite losing. His mentality is about winning things, not being happy to be 2nd 3rd or 4th.

Sorry should have clarified myself, I'm talking about the parking of the bus that chelsea are well known for. From reading the reports of the game, it seems like chelsea didn't park the bus today, which makes a change I suppose.

Koscielny emptied his pockets in the dressing room after the game and hazard fell out

Thought it was Bellerin that had Hazard in his back pocket??:p

Cheers, I just cant stand Owens commentary.

I think the bit that stood out was when he was banging on about Ivanovic embarrassing himself for 'shooting wide' from inside his own half and 'missing' by 5-10 yards, not troubling Cech at all. The fact that Ivanovic was returning the ball after play restarted because two players had been receiving treatment was missed on the god damned idiot.

Commentary was terrible as usual and thankfully because BT have got so much more football.... more Owen, and more of that stupid god damned score bar and logo in the bottom of the screen rather than the top.

BT are idiots, spending more on stuff but sticking with a completely hated commentator and not fixing the logo/score bar.

AS for the game, Chelsea weren't awake in the first half, Arsenal were but really created a single chance which AOC scored well, can rest him for the rest of the season now as he's had his good goal.

IN general both sides were terrible, Fabregas was awful first half, second half he improved a lot but was still nowhere near his best. Chelsea doing the impression of an awful Mourinho side. They started last season with a fluid attack creating loads of chances and scoring a lot, mid season they dropped back to the slow poor build up, not involving their striker, few chances and low scoring. Basically they started last season watchable and for the second half were terrible, utterly terrible to watch. Starting this year as they finished last year. It's like in the final third they haven't got a freaking clue what they are doing anymore.

Mourinho's teams generally get to this point under him, they lose creativity, are too defensive and begin to struggle to break teams down.

Arsenal looked better but against a very poor Chelsea created very few chances. Walcott and Ozil were terrible, Cazorla made a hash of several things. Coquelin did intercept well but the passes being intercepted were long and very readable, he did well but wasn't given a hard job.

Walcott, this was never a game to play him as a lone striker, but his utter refusal to even try to do anything apart from his usual runs was his fault. On the break beyond the midfield with the defence backing off and 10 yards ahead he could have run at them but instead provided a woeful ball sideways behind the two players moving out wide. He gave the ball away easily and didn't get into positions to help move through the defence. Giroud did more in his first 5 mins on the pitch than Walcott did all game.

There are teams you can get away with Walcott as a lone striker, a huge Chelsea back like and Matic is not that game.

Falcao was odd, with Utd as well sometimes he would just foul people when he couldn't get to the ball, but so obviously and badly that every time it got called as a foul. His jump into Arteta was never going to do anything but stop their attack. He tried to move around and had energy but again Chelsea's link up play upfront has been non existent since the start of 2015.

Terrible game, becoming increasing frustrated with English football, another boring game after a season of largely boring games. How can CHelsea be that bad but Arsenal create so little, how can the champions be that bad and have played that bad so often last year and won by a huge margin.

German league was more exciting last year, La Liga has been more exciting for ages.

tut tut bitter much :p

I thought he has chucked winners medals into the crowd in the past as well? Sure he has said he doesn't give a toss about the medals etc, may be wrong though.

Just as well pre-season never really counts for much as Chelsea have been woeful throughout :(
Cech got a great reception from the Chelsea fans as you'd expect, not sure why the Arsenal fans booed Fabregas every time he touched the ball though, a lack of class?

Just read those 2 statements back to yourself.
Christ.

He has yes and I imagine the kid who got it yesterday was pleased enough -

"I don't want the medal. I don't keep the ones when I win, imagine the ones when I lose. The kid was there, an Arsenal kid and I think it's a good memory for him. His team wins and he takes a medal from the losers."
