2015 FIFA Women's World Cup ** spoilers ** [6th June - 5th July 2015]

Congrats to the us women's team

Was like watching two people playing fifa on manual for the first time at times though

Well done to the Us women.

By far the best team in the competition. On the whole there's been a few decent games, the Germans, French, china, and England to a degree, they know how to knock it about effectively.

Ways to go, but for me the above play as good as most stuff you see at championship level over here.

The standard will only improve with a greater uptake of the game as it moves in to a more professional era.

Upset that England didn't get through as I think we'd have had a better crack at USA than Japan, we'd have been punching above our weight to win though - if we're being realistic. In the end, 3rd is a bloody fantastic result given that the mens team hasn't got that far in donkeys years

You're right, but what a sad state of affairs that the country which invented the game is said to be punching above their weight against a team that has only relatively recently started playing 'soccer'.

I also wouldn't be too surprised if Mark Sampson turned out to be the bookies favourites for the mens team when it comes round to extending Hodgie's contract

I always find it odd that teams generally score exclusively from crosses or corners. Is it because they don't shift the ball quickly enough through the middle or don't have the touch or vision to pass through the middle? Almost every goal I've seen has come through a cross or set piece of some sort.

The goals in the final were beyond awful, the fact they were scored in the final makes me a sad panda. It was like having a team of Purdy playing Pro Clubs.

Enjoyed the competition, still think female goalkeepers let the quality of the out field play down. Have the U.S.A women's team ever finished outside the top 3 at a World Cup? I can only recall them finishing in the top 3.

Unfortunately, I think it will, it really is just a matter of time. Now that football has become much more serious over there, there'll be truck loads of dollars to attract great talent.

Not only that, they will get the best coaching structure and schooling to go with it. I have said for years they will win the world cup before both an African nation and England. Good luck to them, if they are investing it in, they deserve it. They do better than us even with an inferior league and players that would struggle to get in most teams in the EPL. Perhaps they just have more national pride and as their players aren't on 300,000 a week they actually still care.

not true the usa have pioneered womans football far more then we have and now our clubs are really starting to subsidise the woman game we will be better equiped to deal with the yanks.

15-20 years ago we would be on a certain 5-0 spanking, there will be no more of that.
