2015 Review

Job/Career - Still in the same role, not feeling massively stretched and maybe to comfy

Car(s) - Still got the old meriva - it starts, it stops and it's moved me from a rented house to my own

Holiday - Lake district for my brothers wedding, so rock and roll I know

Relationship / Family- Relationship - whats that?. Family - Gained a sister in law and never felt more close or better with my family :)

Home / Property - Bought my Own House - though technically I did only just complete last week, I did offer and get that accepted last year....

High - The House

Low - Lost weight and then got super stressed with having to find a new place due to great houseshare splitting up and as a result ate like a small army and put most of it back on

2016 Plans - Get settled in house, rent spare room out, lose weight - maybe new job/ new role at work see what's there?
 
Job/Career - Still the same job, just a different role. A lot tougher, and a lot more technical.

Car(s) - Sold my Clio 182, and got a Pajero IO. It's great/awful. I don't care about it, so I mostly spend it's life destroying it off road. Cheap enough if it explodes, I'll just leave it.

Holiday - NYC, Cyprus, UK, Vienna, Berlin and Prague.

Relationship / Family- Split with the GF, not a bad thing really.

Home / Property - Still living in basic rented accom.

High - Holidays, some awesome times there. Mostly involving beer and women.

Low - Probably stupid drunken decisions.

2016 Plans - I like life, but more mountain biking under my belt with hopefully a holiday to the Alps, Korea and Japan soon.
 
Job/Career - still contracting, heading towards nearly 6 years now.

Car(s) - 60 plate Jaguar XJ

Holiday - (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica), China, Sorrento, (Bangladesh, India and Bhutan), (Dubai and Australia). To be fair the first and last holiday was over Christmas and into the new year so straddled both years

Relationship / Family- married, been with my wife for 19 years, married for 6 years

Home / Property - in our own home and nearly paid of our mortgage

High - wife getting her new role as an EMEA HR director in a global US company

Low - none

Job/Career - Been with my current employer for 2 years in March, have a fantastic relationship with my bosses, more like friends. Love my job and won't be going anywhere soon - unless i'm forced out.

Car(s) - Changed my Audi A6 for my 2013 BMW 525D, love that.

Holiday - We saved all year for our holiday at the end of last year / beginning of this year, spent a month in New Zealand and got married there, travelled around north island in a camper van which was fun, then we stopped in Sydney for a few nights for new years eve, it was packed, finally spent 3 nights in Dubai to break the flights up. Really enjoyed Dubai and New Zealand, wouldn't rush back to Sydney though, not that it's bad, it's just i've done everything there i wish to do so see no reason to go back.

Relationship / Family- Got married in December to my soul mate, we live and work with each other and it never gets annoying or boring.

Home / Property - Looking into buying a property in New Zealand to rent out until we decide to move over there in the next 5-10 years. Currently renting still where we are.

High - Getting married and getting over the anxiety of flying by flying across to the other side of the world :D

Low - Didn't really have any lows last year, 2015 was a fantastic year, hopefully this year will be too.

2016 Plans - We've booked 2 holidays already, we're going to Italy in May and taking my kids to Disneyland Paris in July, then we're going back to New Zealand in January next year for 6 weeks.
 
Job/Career - Same old same, pays the bills :)

Car(s) - Can't drive for medical reasons, cannot wait for the Google car it will change my life.

Holiday - 2 Weeks in Austria in the summer, did a lot of cycling, walking and sledging on the glacier!

Relationship / Family- First anniversary of being married was celebrated.

Home / Property - Totally decorated the living room and all new furniture. I have wanted to do this for 3 years since we moved in. New garage door and new patio in the garden.

High - Austria

Low - Grandmother diagnosed with Alzheimers and went into care. It has taken a massive toll on my mother.

2016 Plans - Release an album or EP of Sythwave / Futuresynth music I am working on. Also got a trip to Iceland booked. Maybe start a family...
 
Does anyone here actually care what some random person on the internet did in 2015? I don't get the point of these threads, there is no actual conversation - just people posting lists.
 
I do, it's interesting to see what people value and how they feel about their lives. It can also give some context to their other posts.
 
Job/Career - Slowly starting to increase shares in business and with that responsibilities. Made trips to China and France to visit our associates and introduced more efficient ways of working (trying to decrease paperwork and go fully digital)
I enjoy being able to make decisions and going with them instantly without having to go through levels of management (perk of a small business)

Car(s) - My first new car is on it's way this year, current Focus and Fiesta have been fairly problem free but looking forward to the extra gadgetry and refinement from the new one.

Holiday - Had our 1st "proper" hols, went to San Francisco, 1st time in the states as well, loved every minute. Got engaged :)

Relationship / Family- As above got engaged, family from all sides keeping me busy. Things generally going very well

Home / Property - New home owners by late 2014 so spent quite a bit of time and money doing up the place , with lots more to do and planned for this year.

High - Got engaged, Had the best holiday, got a better bike, got a PR for half marathon

Low - Towards end of year my Grandad got diagnosed with terminal cancer, so tough watching the effect it has on him as well as my Dad.

2016 Plans - Budgeting and planning for Wedding, further home improvements, couple of mini breaks planned, More biking planned (trip to Alps) and maintaining good health, concentrating on things that actually keep me happy rather than things that "should"

2016 Plans - Change jobs, I'll probably end up on minimum wage knowing my luck.
 
2015 was one of the best years I've probably ever had.

Job/Career - Graduated from uni and landed a grad job in an accountancy firm a few months after.

Car(s) - VW Polo.

Holiday - First time in years I never went abroad, but I've had the odd day in the south of England and the odd day in the north of Scotland, and the odd day everywhere in between.

Relationship / Family- Properly got over my ex at the beginning of the year, started dating someone in June who I'm now with. Much happier :)

Home / Property - Back with my parents temporarily. Moving in a couple of months.

High - New relationship. It really picked me up and helped keep me motivated while job hunting.

Low - Graduating without anything to go to. Felt a bit lost and purposeless.

2016 Plans - work hard, save cash, travel and enjoy life.

Job/Career - Still working for the same place. Started to change my role a bit last year so that I can get out of the office a bit more doing activities and delivering training. Enjoyed our project in Rimini, Italy working with some of the mental health services over there.

Car(s) - None (I don't currently drive)

Holiday - Had a nice break in Alicante during their Festival of Fire, saw tons of really amazing street art that was made for the festival... then watched one of the main pieces get burnt down as that's the tradition. The coach trip up to Guadalest was one of the highlights of the holiday as it was great being up in the mountains in such a peaceful location.

Relationship / Family- Ended my relationship around October and have been having a break from anything resembling companionship since. Been spending lots of weekends through the year with my niece as she's gotten quite interested in boardgames, cooking and playing on the console. One of my sisters got married so that was a fairly big part of the year... just me left now to get married.

Home / Property - Been in the same house for the past 2 years, re-furnished my office space towards the end of the year with a new desk and put together some bookshelves. Also replaced my bed with a nice new one with a memory-foam top.

High - Plans are starting to get in motion to be less of an admin and more of a trainer/project co-ordinator, cleared off the remaining balance of my catalogues and my loan is almost completely paid off so outgoing finances are gradually reducing.

Low - Pay is still low due to working in the voluntary sector, public transport seems worse than ever in Cornwall with me being stranded in town after 10:30pm more than once and having to either pay through the nose for a taxi or beg someone for a lift.

2016 Plans - My major plans for the year are to try put some cash aside so I can sort out my driving lessons and be in a position to pick-up a cheap run-around. Also to move to a new home somewhere in town so I'm able to get out more and access more. I might try do another holiday, either in Spain or Norway. Definitely want to clear out all of the stuff I don't plan on using any time soon, I've got far too much junk that's stacked up over the past couple of years...
Might also consider a new job with a higher rate of pay if I sort out getting a car.
 
Job/Career - got my permanent promotion signed off. So earning more and happy in the job.

Car(s) - Sold my beloved Mazda MX-5 and got a Micra :( Sold my Micra, something to come in 2016.

Holiday - Jolly to Pretoria for 2 weeks. Walked with Lions, played with baby Lions and Tigers. Got bitten by a baby tiger..... Went on a 2 day safari which was extremely fun saw all sorts of animals. Had monkey poo thrown at the car I was in :p Overall a cracking holiday :)

Relationship / Family- My younger brother and his wife moved to Switzerland. I broke up with my (ex)gf. It hurt for a while but moving on well.

Home / Property - I moved out of my own apartment in Brussels and back to the UK into my parents :( But alas it was only a temp move. More details in 2016 section.

High - My career is heading in the exact direction I want it to and in general I really happy I've achieved what I set out to do. Saved a fair chunk of money throughout 2015 with no debts what so ever. Overall 2015 was a pretty darn good year for me.

Low - My grandfather passed away (RIP) which was quite a big shock to the family. It wasn't really expected and he passed away so quickly. He had been fighting lung cancer for quite some time and seemed fairly ok. But then one night he went to sleep never to wake up again :( That said most likely the best way to go I guess.

2016 Plans - I moved to Bucharest (Romania) in early Jan :D which was planned from 2015. So I'm now out of my parents and into my own apartment yay. Started work here and I'm really really enjoying it so far. People here are weird and wonderful :p I really like it. Nightlife is very fun from what I've seen so far. My new work colleagues are a great bunch and been going out a lot with them. So for me off to a great start.

My plan for the rest of the year, settle into my new home in Bucharest, get a car asap, go to Brașov/Transylvania and Constanta. Drive the Transfagarasan highway. Go to Chisinau - Moldova (doing that in a couple weeks actually). Have a few friends come from the UK to visit me in Bucharest. So far 2016 looks like it will be a fun year for me :D
 
Weirdly, 2015 turned out to be on my greatest years on this planet considering the fact I broke up with my GF who I had been with for 3+ years and had moved out with and my Grandad passed away after a long time battle with drink.

Job/Career - In one of the best careers I can be for my age and what I enjoy doing, still going well and was promoted in December for the second year in a row. Pay rise to come next month.

Car(s) - No interest in a car as I cycle and when required public transport is normally quicker.

Holiday - Had a great holiday with my family back in May, was nice to actually do something considering I was moved out for so long and hadn't done anything with them properly for years! Expect to do the same this year.

Relationship / Family - Broke up with my GF, caused me to take a couple days off work as it was a nasty surprise, but overall friends and family stayed with me and from then has been great. Awesome to be back home with my family. Not really seeking another relationship either, but wouldn't mind seeing how it goes!

Home / Property - Since moving back home I now have a lot more money to save away, and plan to buy a property this year locally to rent out, with my dad helping out to keep things in shape, should be a fun time.

High - Moved back home, back in touch with a lot of friends, had a great ending to the year! Lots more money and have started cycling which has hooked me, so looking forward to carrying on in cycling and seeing where that takes me over the next year.

Low - Relationship, Grandad passed away although was able to raise some charity money in his name which helped with the grieving process, and taking on a degree with my full time work, it's been managed poorly (it's a new work scheme) and has been difficult to stay on top of.

2016 Plans - Carry on cycling, carry on working hard and try to get some over seas work if any projects are happening in my space. More holidays and family time, also focus more on my degree, I should really do that...
 
Job/Career - Love my job, but my specific job is due to end at the end of the year. However between now and then a minor promotion is on the cards which is good.

Car(s) - Still have my 350Z, it was badly damaged by a friend, but he's paid for it to be fixed, and she's better than she was before. Love it!

Holiday - Busy year last year. Oz for Christmas, Cyprus for Easter, Italy for a Wedding, Ireland for family, France road trip, Dubai for sun and friends, and Ireland again.

Relationship / Family - Still married! And all is well with our families.

Home / Property - Still have our flat in SE London. It's okay. But hoping to move this year.

High - Job, life, holidays, family, everything really. A pretty good year. Deleted myself off facebook.

Low - An uncle died. Friend crashed my 350z. Didn't hit any new PBs at the gym.

2016 Plans - Buy a house, start a family.
 
Job/Career - had a good year, lots of projects learnt a lot which gave me the kick up the backside to move on to a similar role with more responsibility which I am now in my first week

Car(s) - the trusty old shoe box even though only bought as a stop gap until I decided what I wanted 3 odd years ago now is still going strong passed mot with 2 advisories which were stupid anyway (a scratch on door sill paintwork)

Holiday - no big holidays last year, only a long weekend at centre parcs

Relationship / Family- brother got married and I set my wedding date

Home / Property - me and the fiancée moved in to our first home together. it was a state and we have stripped them all back and started again. it took December-December to get us to a happy place without rumble lying everywhere its been a long expensive road but we got a bargain in the current market! few odd bits still to do and a junk yard of a garden/front to attack this year.

High - settling my car debt which has been a miserable road after making many a stupid decision. Getting dogs I bloody love them

Low - no holidays took its toll/ being absolutely dead behind the eyes working/doing up a house it tested our relationship at times with me being a miserable soul working such long hours and also having to live back with parents for a few months whilst we got a habitable house. it did bring us together in the end though and made us happier than we have been so every cloud and all that.

2016 Plans - GET MARRIED, get savings back up a little bit and start thinking of where in the world we want to go see. I really see now and the future as my time to live and have some fun. I am working less house and better pay with all my big financial decisions being completed. LETS HAVE SOME FUN
 
Job/Career - Left Uni and got a job, one that I'm pretty happy with for the time being.

Car(s) - Sold the Mini, bought an Alfa GTV. Can't complain!

Holiday - Went to the Le Mans 24hr as usual but haven't had time for anything else really.

Relationship / Family- Living with the folks still, happy for the time being but who knows how long that'll last.

Home / Property - Hoping to buy a place in Birmingham as an investment with my sister.

High - Leaving Uni, feeling refreshed and free from education.

Low - The second half of my third year at uni, absolute hell.

2016 Plans - See whether current job progresses how I'd like it to, if not start looking at jobs. Buy house with sister, probably change car again later in the year.
 
All in all 2015 was pretty good actually!

Job/Career -Picked up more responsibilities (well really I'm just doing my job now rather than the weird transition period we had) and learning more. Building a phone system from the ground up is a bit of fun actually!

Car(s) - Nope, think I attempted to get into driving but couldn't see the point with my current living arrangements.

Holiday -Meet-up in Denmark, that was a good laugh. Met some people that I've only interacted with online and had a jolly ol' time.

Relationship / Family - Nothing major other than getting into my first relationship in about 5/6 years or so! So that's a bonus :D

Home / Property - Still renting the over-priced shoebox.

High -Meeting my girlfriend.

Low -Lost a friend or two thanks to petty drama on the island, but really nothing that bad.

2016 Plans - Finally get enough saved up for a deposit and stop renting this over-priced shoebox.

Job/Career - Same job asI'ave had for years, except it's busier and we got a new Manger and Line Manager both of whom are useless!!

Car(s) - Same boring old CMAX

Holiday - None/ Time off to decorate.

Relationship / Family - Still sharing house with my ex and my little boy

Home / Property - Remortgaged and bought my ex out of the house so it's all mine now.

High - Took an Archery beginners course, then totally lost my confidence and never went along to the club I was looking at joining and hence have done nothing more on it, so not the best highlight.

Other than that, some nice days out with my little man, including a car picnic on a rainy day which he loved.

Low - Realising that my 'friends' clearly aren't bothered as I literally didn't hear from them for months.

2016 Plans - My ex will move out and take my son with her, until that happens I'm making the most of my time with him. After that, just trying to not spiral downwards when he's not there every day.
